Chapter 139 - It's not a competition

Autumn's POV

My eyes are still closed as I try to stretch my body when I touch something with my legs. I open my eyes slightly, the lights in the room are dim and the sun hasn't come up yet but there he is. Domenic. Sleeping by my legs.

He hasn't left, he didn't leave me alone. Seeing him like this makes me feel guilty that I didn't let him in earlier. He must have snuck in when no one was on watch.

"Domenic," I whisper trying to wake him up gently. To gently it would seem since he doesn't hear me, or maybe he is just too tired.

"Domenic." I say louder this time and he opens his eyes and immediately jumps up.

"Baby, you're awake." He says as he takes my hand in his. "Should I call a doctor?" Domenic asks with his voice all confused, still in shock from waking up suddenly.

"No no, I'm fine. They will check up on me soon. What are you doing here, you should be home resting." I say as I bring my hand to his face.

"And leave you alone on our first wedding night? Not a chance." He say
