The whole building was silent as it usually was; with no building close by, there was no noise coming from outside. Mr. Afonso held onto his cane, as it was the only source of sound in the building, and his wife followed beside him slowly. The whole building was painted white and smelled like antiseptic. Only a few nurses moved in blue scrub and a receptionist who was seated on her chair. Her gaze moved to the sound, as it wasn't every day they had visitors or patients in their hospital. They only attend to patients whose identities needed to be kept secret, and not everyone knew the hospital existed. It wasn't on the map and not in the city. It had taken the Afonso a long journey to finally get there.

Mrs. Afonso stopped in front of the receptionist, and she stood up immediately. As there weren't many patients in the hospital; she knew every patient and their guardian.
