Ciara believed that Jane had taken her words to heart.

In a soft tone, she said, "Jane, I regret my previous actions. I treated you so well that you should have been satisfied with your temper. Come back, and I will continue to help you with your brother's medical expenses. I won't force you in the future."

Jane was brought back to reality by her insincere words and felt irritated.

Did she think she was naive enough to fall for her lies?

With a half-smile, Jane replied, "Ciara, are you asking for forgiveness because you are afraid I'll surpass you?"

Ciara frowned, "Why would you think that?"

"It's not what I think. It's what you said to me," retorted Jane, her tone icy. "You claimed that you were hospitalized due to stomach bleeding caused by me. But, the truth is that you wanted to seduce Damien Wolfe. Unfortunately, he rejected you. Don't you feel embarrassed?"

Ciara had never been spoken to like this before. Her face turned red with fury, and she lashed out by slapping Jane.
