Chapter 4: Approaching the goal.

Filled with confidence and arrogance, Axel strode towards the girl whom Rosa had designated as the target of their bet.

"Daisy, table number eight is calling for service. You go there."

"Yes."

Daisy, the girl assigned the task, began to move. She headed towards table number 8, coincidentally passing by Axel. A gentle touch between their arms suddenly caused Axel to stand frozen for a moment. A familiar sensation rushed through Axel's mind and heart. When Axel snapped back to reality, Daisy had already moved away from him. Axel quickly turned his head to look at Daisy, and without hesitation, he took steps towards her.

"Hey, waitress!" Axel called out to get Daisy's attention; she was standing by table number 8, waiting for the customers to place their orders.

Thinking that she wasn't being called, Daisy didn't react or respond to Axel.

"I'm talking to you. Can't you hear?" Axel attempted to regain Daisy's attention once again by raising the volume of his voice.

"At the same time, the customers finished placing their orders.

"Please wait a moment, sir or madam," Daisy politely said, and then turned around to head towards the counter to hand the order to the bartender.

As she turned, Daisy was briefly startled to see Axel standing in front of her. Daisy stepped to the left, but Axel immediately stepped to the right, and vice versa. Finally, Daisy gently requested:

"Excuse me, please let me pass."

However, Axel didn't move. He remained stationary, staring directly at Daisy. Standing face-to-face with his target, Axel felt a slight sense of dissatisfaction. He observed Daisy from top to bottom, silently assessing her. He had to admit that the girl Rosa had chosen had an unattractive face and was dressed loosely. It certainly didn't match Axel's taste.

"Can we talk for a moment?" Axel spoke loudly, attempting to drown out the music playing from the speakers.

"For what?" Daisy asked again, quite surprised and not fully understanding Axel's intentions. Therefore, she tried to predict a possible scenario: "What do you need help with? If it's the restroom, it's over there; just follow the directional signs."

Axel kept his seriousness to answer:

"I want to get to know you. We can have a conversation to understand each other better. Can we find a quieter place to talk?"

"Do you know who I am?" Daisy asked with curiosity.

"No," Axel replied honestly, causing Daisy to furrow her brow and doubt Axel's intentions. She thought that the man in front of her might be playing a prank, so she quickly declined.

"Sorry, I'm busy. If you need someone to talk to, try getting to know other women here."

After speaking, Daisy decisively walked past Axel. However, Axel extended his hand, holding Daisy back.

Daisy felt a sudden grip on her arm, causing her to stop in her tracks. She turned to face Axel, a mixture of surprise and caution evident in her expression.

"I'm talking to you," Axel recalled with a stern tone.

"What do you want from me?" Daisy asked, her voice tinged with a hint of concern. She wasn't sure about Axel's intentions and was growing increasingly uneasy. At the same time, she felt uncomfortable as Axel dared to touch her by holding her hand so blatantly.

A hush descended as Axel contemplated what he needed and would say to achieve his objectives. He truly needed an effective strategy that would lead to success. Meanwhile, Daisy became increasingly impatient, and a sense of unease engulfed her.

"If there's nothing important, please stop your games and let me go." Daisy gently broke the silence, glancing around and checking if any of the managers had witnessed the scene. She truly didn't want to encounter any trouble with the customers, as it could jeopardize her job.

"Be my girlfriend," Axel stated firmly, leaving Daisy in disbelief.

"What did you just say?" she exclaimed, her mouth agape in astonishment.

"Go out with me," Axel repeated impatiently.

After a moment of shock, Daisy regained her composure and spoke:

"Are you joking?"

"No, I'm not."

"Then are you crazy?"

"No, I'm not."

"Then do you have some sort of brain issue?"

Axel felt annoyed by Daisy's seemingly nonsensical questions.

"I'm perfectly fine," he replied with a hint of irritation in his voice.

"No normal person ever asks me out," Daisy confidently stated. "I don't want any trouble, so please stop your jokes."

"Go out with me," Axel repeated.

"I'm sorry, but I have to get back to work."

With that, Daisy brushed off Axel's hand and walked straight back to the counter, leaving Axel behind.

Axel, frustrated and irritated, realized that his quick and straightforward approach had failed. He had been overly confident, assuming that any girl would be willing and happy to go on a date with him, and Daisy was no exception. However, to his surprise, Daisy had firmly rejected him. Axel was not exactly sure of the reason behind Daisy's rejection. Perhaps, as Daisy had mentioned, she was busy. It was also possible that Daisy had sensed something suspicious or off about Axel's actions. The likelihood of Daisy figuring out Axel's intentions seemed implausible to him, or at least that's what Axel believed.

Axel knew that there were eyes watching him from behind, and he didn't want to lose face after boldly declaring that he would resolve this bet in just a few minutes. So he had to try harder.

Setting aside his anger, Axel decided to follow Daisy, determined to persuade her using a different approach. Just as he reached the counter, Daisy moved again, delivering the menu to another table. Frustration surged within Axel, and he felt the urge to swear, but considering his own freedom, he restrained himself and persisted. With a few long strides, Axel caught up to Daisy. In a decisive move, he grabbed her hand, causing her to turn and face him.

"What's going on?" Daisy exclaimed, slightly startled.

"I like you; go on a date with me," Axel said loudly, just as the music abruptly stopped for some unknown reason. His words unintentionally caught the attention of those nearby.

As Daisy was still caught up in her confusion and unable to react in time, an invisible force seemed to urge Axel to perform a daring act. Axel pulled her in for a passionate and courageous kiss. Time stood still for a few seconds, yet emotions surged within Daisy's heart. A chaotic sparkle filled her eyes.

However, it wasn't Daisy's emotions that caught my attention first. The sound of a tray crashing to the floor from Daisy's trembling hands echoed through the air, causing the glasses on it to spill and shatter into pieces. The crowd was now in a state of excitement and curiosity. They were bewildered, laughing, and even cheering in excitement. All eyes were focused on the two of them, but no one knew exactly what had transpired.

Meanwhile, Axel's friends exchanged skeptical glances. They couldn't hear the words Axel had spoken to Daisy before this scene unfolded. They couldn't comprehend the intentions and plans Axel was carrying out.

"What's going on? Did Axel succeed?" Dion asked, puzzled.

"Perhaps the girl has agreed to go on a date with him," Tom speculated, looking towards the two of them. "But we'll have to wait until things become clearer."

"If we only look at this scene, it seems like Axel has succeeded," Zane replied, with surprise on his face. "But we don't know exactly what happened before. Maybe the girl was caught off guard, or maybe Axel had other plans. We need to wait and see."

Contrary to the crowd's reaction, Rosa appeared angry and unable to accept Axel's actions. She couldn't understand why Axel dared to make such bold moves and embarrass himself like that. Was Axel trying to show off and prove himself as the winner? Anger and disgust filled Rosa; her fists clenched tightly, grinding her teeth in frustration. She muttered words of reproach, cursing Axel in her anger.
