THIRTY EIGHT – HER DARK GOD

The next two days go by in a blur. Vanessa and Anna are here as much as they can, every single day. They rarely ever leave me alone, and I very much appreciate their thoughtfulness.

I told Vanessa everything that happened when I was in captivity. I didn't leave anything out. Since then, she says leaving me alone could make me gravitate towards dark thoughts. I most definitely agree.

The five days I spent in that hell have haunted my dreams for the past two nights. Sometimes, I shoot awake, wondering if I'm still tied up in that dark, dank room.

And then I see him.

The hallway lights are always turned off whenever he comes around, so I only see his bulky frame at the door, staring at me. Watching over me.

I am supposed to be angry with him, mad as hell at him, but the opposite is the case. I cannot seem to muster the energy to remain mad at anyone at this point.

Perhaps I am upset that he didn't come to my rescue sooner. He hasn't paid me a single visit since I woke
