Chapter 17: I Love You

As she's helped to lie down on the bed, a comforting hand holds hers tightly. Despite gritting her teeth to suppress the intense pain, tears trickle down her face. With gentle care, her wet clothes are then removed and her body is washed to soothe the burning sensation caused by the spilled soup.

"It's itching a lot." She winces in pain; it feels like her heart will get out of her throat.

"It'll hurt for a while, then the pain will go away," she says while ruffling her hair. Finally, the ointment is carefully applied to the affected area, providing a cooling sensation and easing her discomfort.

"Mam, how did this happen suddenly?"

"I've slipped." A lie is spoken to her, with no other apparent options available.

"You should be careful, ma'am; Mrs. John will scold us as well as you if she comes to know about this." A look of deep concern is etched on her face, her furrowed brows and tense jawline reflecting the worry and care she feels.

"Please don't tell her." As Judy says in a pleading
