I sat on the dinning table, running fingers through my hair. I drank orange juice from the glass and was about to spread the butter on the toast when my eyes fell on Justin walking downstairs in black cargo pants and T-shirt with gun tugged effortlessly in his waist band. His hair were wet, most probably he just came out of the shower. He sat across me, not even bothering to look at me.

I licked my lips, trying to say something. “Good morning.” Wow, great move, Ava.

He nodded, still not looking at me.

Fuck it. “I’m sorry for what I said. I didn’t mean any of that. I don’t even know the full story. So, I’m sorry...”

He looked at me for a split second before taking a bite from the apple. “It’s okay.”

Shame crawled up to my cheeks as I remembered exactly what I’ve said to him about his parents. I swear I had no idea that his parents are dead. Once I overheard my bother talking about something related to Justin, so I just twisted the words and spat. And now I regret it.
