Chapter 31

And I was looking into his eyes, which I fall into,for they are my ruin and if only I knew, my salvation.

I am drowning in water. The liquid is thick and cold, and I can feel it pressing against my skin, squeezing the air out of my lungs. I can feel it in my bloodstream, seeping through my veins like poison. My arms and legs are heavy, and I can’t seem to move them. I try to take a breath, but instead, I just swallow more water. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest, and I know I am running out of time.

My vision starts to blur, and I feel a strange sense of calm wash over me. I am losing consciousness, and I know it.

The water is inky black, but I can still make out some shapes in the distance. I can see the moon, like a beacon in the sky, and the stars twinkling in the night. I can feel the pull of the tide, and I wonder if I will ever resurface.
