36. Krystal Wishes

Richard's POV

"Nothing's wrong with me. Can't you be patient until someone picks up your phone call? You think everyone must always prioritize your call above all else?" I retorted coldly.

There was a pause for a few seconds. Krystal probably never thought I would reply to her in this way.

"Is this how you reply to a wife worried about her husband?" she exclaimed. I could hear she was taking great pains not to use a high tone again.

A sardonic smile appeared on my face. "Thank you for your concern, wife. Anything else?" I replied in an unconcerned tone.

Calling your husband in the morning after he hasn't come home all night doesn't necessarily reflect that you're a good wife.

"Richard! Okay, I know you're still sulking because I didn't keep my word, but don't you know why I had to do it? I thought we both had the same goal of maintaining our household?" Krystal was persistent with her arguments.
