50. The Emerging Facts

Richard's POV

"I'd like to report your husband's weirdness this morning." I heard the sound of Jeremy's conversation with his cell phone. He was standing behind me, facing the window by the stairs, one floor below the floor of my office.

I had just arrived at my office a few minutes ago. I suddenly remembered I had to find Jeremy to ask him about my following schedule.

Jeremy was usually in the pantry at this hour making coffee. I suddenly felt like going down the stairs and finding Jeremy downstairs. I heard something interesting.

It was unethical to eavesdrop on other people's conversations, even if they were talking about me. Usually, I would have left Jeremy alone until he finished his call.

But this time was different. I was upset. "If you're done with your report, I'm waiting upstairs," I interrupt rather loudly.
