Chapter twenty seven

"Is something wrong? You seem lost in thought," Alex's voice brought me back to the present. We were in his office, and I was seated on his visitor's couch. I looked around for the food I had brought earlier, but it was nowhere to be seen in his office. A bodyguard had brought it in earlier, and I wondered where it had gone.

"Alex, where's the white bag I brought?" I continued searching with my eyes, but I couldn't find it. Did I forget it or did they take it?

"That? I reheated it," he replied.

"Why did you take it from me?"

"I brought it here. Didn't you notice? You've been lost in thought since we arrived. What's on your mind?" He moved closer to me, and his hand rested on my waist.
