Chapter 46: Escape

IN the middle of the night, Jennifer peeked into the living room. She sensed if anyone was still awake at that time. It was one a.m. so the maids were probably sleeping well. She slowly approached Jennelyn's room to see if she was still awake. Next was Edwin's room. She walked in tiptoes so as not to create noise.

"Buddy, get us a drink first to relieve sleepiness." The guard ordered his companion. Only the two of them were awake every night to keep watch of the mansion.

James waited for the other to leave before cautiously approaching the man left behind. He was wearing black clothes and only his eyes were visible so he could not be recognized even if he was seen on the surveillance camera.

"Uhmm!"

The man fought and tried to break free from James' stranglehold on him, but the latter was stronger. He also immediately covered his nose and mouth with the handkerchief with sleeping medicine.

After making sure that the man was asleep, James made him sit up. He looked like he fell asleep
