Chapter 45

Rose 's eyes opened to the brightness of light from her window, she was  awoken to the stillness of the mansion, her mind still heavy with the events of the previous night. She couldn't recall when she had finally allowed herself to  succumb to sleep after leaving Sebastian and her mother,  and retreating to her room. Slowly, she pushed herself out of bed, her body feeling weighed down by a mixture of exhaustion, slight pain, and a tug of emotional turmoil.

As Rose made her way to the bathroom, she allowed herself a moment of respite under the soothing stream of water cascading from the showerhead. The warm droplets washed away the remnants of a restless night, offering a fleeting sense of calmness amidst the chaos that she feared had become her reality. Taking a deep breath, she let the water envelop her, hoping it would wash away some of the confusing  thoughts that  she carried within.
