We were on our way home, and Jillie was absolutely quiet. I knew what she’d heard from her grandmother had been a lot. Couple that with the things that she heard from Nunny and I, and her head must have been reeling.

“You okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine,” she responded, leaning back in the seat.

“I know it’s a lot to take in Piccolo.”

“You have no idea. You can’t possibly imagine how confused, upset, and scared I am,” she whispered.
