Angel saw Dave coming out of his sister's room with a downcast face and a momentarily blank stare. Angel approached him so Dave lifted his gaze and only then could Angel see the sadness in the man's eyes. She didn't say anything, moved closer and hugged her husband tightly.

Dave immediately returned the hug. He buried his face in the crook of his wife's neck and took a deep breath to find the calmness he could find strangely in Angel.

"We'd better go home now," Dave said, still hugging Angel, his voice muffled by strands of hair.

"What about Daisy?" Angel asked, glancing at the glass in the door.

"She'll be fine," Dave replied, his voice calm.

Angel won't ask much. She didn't want to make Dave explain something he didn't want to talk about. So without saying anything, Angel nodded in agreement. They returned home, leaving the hospital which had a very gripping loneliness.
