Adrian waited for three hours, but Diana didn't show up at the coffee shop where they liked to sit together, counting the rain. He had tried several times to call her cell phone, but it was off.
The sky was getting darker and cloudy, while Adrian was getting worried. Finally after some deliberation, Adrian called Clarissa. Maybe she knew why Diana didn't come to their meeting, which had never happened before.
“Helllo?” Clarissa's voice seemed cheerful on the other end. Adrian smiled in relief. Diana seems to be okay.
“Clarissa, do you know where Diana is?”
Silence, Clarissa seemed stunned on the other side. “Isn't Diana with you, Adrian? She said she wanted to go to the cafe where you promised to meet when we were on campus.”
Adrian's heart thumped. “Clarissa, Diana didn't come to the meeting place. I've been waiting here for three hours.”
