The next morning Vida left the room still scared. The house was quiet as usual. She then stepped outside and saw her father still sleeping on the sofa, snoring loudly.
She took a deep breath, then immediately headed for the kitchen and prepared breakfast. It was still half past six in the morning. Vida looked at the rice cooker and found that there was still a lot of leftover rice from last night. Her father might decide to eat instant noodles so the rice is not touched. What a coincidence. With that Vida would be able to make fried rice for breakfast. Today is Sunday, so she doesn't need to rush to get ready to go to work.
A few minutes later, the smell of fragrant fried rice filled the tiny house, waking her father. The middle-aged man stepped, still half asleep towards the kitchen.
"You're up so early," her father greeted hoarsely, smiling as he sat down at the kitchen table.
Vida observed her father and was grateful that it seemed the alcohol ef
The car that picked up Vida arrived in front of the Wijaya family's mansion along with Reeves' sports car which stopped at the same place. From behind the backseat of her car, Vida saw Reeves get out from behind the wheel. The man nodded to the servant who quickly came and lifted his things from the car. Suddenly he turned sharply at the car, stared out the back window, as if he knew Vida was still sitting there watching him. After that, Reeves stepped closer to the car, making Vida gulp. Without permission the man opened the back door of the car and lowered his head, looking at her who was still sitting nervously in there with his blue eyes."Why don't you get out?"Reeves' eyes were very sharp, making her a little scared. Once again she swallowed her saliva and then answered in a weak voice, "I was just about to get out."Of course she didn't say that she had deliberately stayed out and waited for Reeves to come in, because she was afraid she'd ha
As Vida had expected, the dinner was awkward. Roy Wijaya was the only one who seemed to be chattering, asking everything about Vida, from her childhood story until she grew up. Meanwhile Reeves and Liam, who were once again somehow on purpose, were arranged to sit to her right and left, just enjoying their meal in silence."Your grandmother, Diana, used to love this food." Roy Wijaya looked reminiscing, staring at the lobster soup in front of him. "There is a Dutch restaurant at the end of town, the only one that provides this menu. Your grandmother and I used to steal time to eat there."Vida watched Roy Wijaya and was saddened to see how much this man seemed to still love her grandmother. Maybe his love for her grandmother was so deep, that almost tens of years had passed and that love still maintained. If only Vida could experience that kind of love.Unfortunately now she is stuck in marriage between two choices, two men who don't seem to love he
Vida's face turned red when she heard those words that were said so matter-of-factly. The thought of such a cold man chasing after her at full power was terrifying to her. Vida reflexively took a step back from him.Reeves himself smiled seeing her reaction. The man tilted his head slightly, looking at her sharply. "Scared of me, eh?"Vida just swallowed her saliva, not daring to answer. Her voice seemed to have disappeared without a trace. Then, unexpectedly, Reeves stepped forward, causing her to freeze without having time to move away. The man was standing right in front of her, so tall that she had to raise her head to look at Reeves' cold and unreadable expression. Then the man stretched his slender fingers towards her face.Again, on reflex, Vida closed her eyes and frowned, afraid of what Reeves would do to her. Unexpectedly, Reeves just touched the tip of his finger to her cheek with a soft touch as light as a feather."Don't even think abou
Vida stared at Reeves' outstretched hand, doubting for a moment. But maybe what he said is true, that to get to know someone, you can try dancing together. In the end, she accepted his hand.Reeves smiled and took Vida's hand, gently leading her into the center of the room, right under the glass-topped dome reflecting the beautiful dark starry sky. They stood face to face and Reeves then wrapped his arms around Vida's waist, bringing her arms around his neck. Their bodies pressed together, accompanied by the sound of soft music that fits perfectly.Reeves' feet moved and Vida's followed, their bodies made to dance together, just so well. His head was on top of hers and the man smiled.“I just realized you're so tiny, Vida.”Vida looked up, directly met with blue eyes that looked so sharp in the dark shadow of the room. Her cheeks were flushed and she hoped it would be dark enough that it couldn't be seen."Maybe you're jus
In the morning, as usual Vida went to the kitchen for breakfast before leaving for work. Like yesterday, he found Liam already in the kitchen, eating what seemed to be his favorite dish, vegetable pasta with cheese sauce and mayonnaise.Liam nodded at her and smiled widely. "Good morning, princess."Vida's cheeks immediately turned red. This was the second time Liam had called her princess, making her feel like she was dealing with a handsome prince who was kind and perfect, with his gentle friendly smile. Liam always seemed kind and smiling to her, as if he was hinting that he was harmless to Vida. However, she suddenly remembered that Reeves used to call her beautiful and made it seem like it was normal."Good morning." Vida looked at Liam shyly. "You always wake up so early, it seems."Liam nodded his head, poured her a cup of hot chocolate and placed the mug with the fragrant and steaming contents in front of her. "I got used to it long ago. Yo
Vida lay down on the bed tired, really tired. Her mind was racing. She still clearly remembered Reeves' anger when she left the meeting room.Liam had deliberately brought up Maeve. The two brothers really hated each other. It seemed that they were unsparingly attacking each other using all means. Then what will happen after this? Will Reeves also bring up the woman in Liam's past to show Vida, in order to avenge Liam?Vida, however, learns that Reeves had a pretty serious relationship with a woman in the past, really takes her by surprise. Not believing Liam's words, Vida immediately searched an internet search engine when she returned to her room. She used the keywords Reeves and Maeve names. The results that came out were gossip news about their relationship and some photos when they attended a party together, looking so harmonious with matching beautiful clothes. Everyone praised Reeves and
Liam lifted his head up, staring at the two human figures who were kissing with flaming eyes. Right now, he was in his car, which was parked in the dark and silent right under the tree of Roy Wijaya's big yard.Reeves kissed Vida on the balcony of her room and that girl didn't even struggle. The girl looked resigned, accepting his kiss.Has Vida fallen for Reeves' charm?Liam's head was pounding and he felt the pain. The pain that made hot liquid flow from his nose and out to wet his lips. He grabbed his white handkerchief and wiped the liquid from his nose. His eyes narrowed when he saw the deep red blood on his handkerchief. The pain hit him straight away, through his entire body until he had to hold on tightly to the steering wheel to control himself. This is terrible. He had to visit his doctor immediately. He must not fall now, not until he succeeds in getting his revenge and stomping Reeves and his entire family at his feet.***
Liam half slams the door to his room, his breath panting and he furrows his brows, actually frowning at the pain. Cold sweat ran down his forehead and he felt excruciating pain all over his body. Liam tried to catch his breath, but a rancid smell wafted from his nose filled with fresh blood, flowing non-stop until it reached frightening levels. He wiped the blood from his nose with his handkerchief, then threw the red handkerchief on the floor. His legs were shaking, he was shuffling trying to reach the bed, but apparently the bed was too far for him.His body fell to the floor, losing consciousness. When Liam opened his eyes, he was in a faint white room. His eyes blinked because of the light that contrasted with the darkness that always surrounded him. Having overcome the light, Liam looked around the room. The first thing he saw was Roy Wijaya. The old man looked somber, sitting in the chair next to his bed."Grandpa, you come back from London?"
