After David gave a quick instruction, the car began to drive forward.

She snapped, her chocolate eyes colliding violently with his brown eyes as she said, "Don't you order me around." She paused before continuing, "And how could you tell my father we were—" Were they not? A couple? She was unable to utter the phrase, and she detested the way he raised a sarcastic, dark brow in response to her obvious hesitation to proceed with the conversation.

He mocked her gently by saying, "Poor Anna." "When the truth is revealed, you still can't admit the fact because you've buried your head in the sand for such a long time," he said.

She spewed out the following insult: "You wouldn't know the truth if it jumped up and bit you." She tore her gaze away from his and shook her head as she said, "You're a devious, conniving swine, and you might be able to fool my father, but you don't fool me." Her jaws tightened.
