Horror of the night

Amber shut her eyes and accepted her fate. She would die and there was no other way about it, at least, not in the midst of these perilous creatures. It seems to her that everywhere she goes, death follows her and was looking for the perfect time to take her with it. What would become of her mother? She asked herself. She would never make it alive and Amber wished for her to have a painless death.

“May we meet again,” Amber said her parting words in her mind as she felt she was getting closer to the ground and a tear escaped the corner of her eye.

“Maybe not now,” a deep male voice said and Amber felt the chills in her body before her body landed on something or someone that has a tight grip on her to prevent her from crashing to the ground.

Amber’s heart skipped a beat and she flung open her eyes immediately to see the vampire that had saved her from the other vampire that was determined to kill her earlier.
