Chapter twenty-eight

Madison stared at her father sitting on her bed. “Why haven’t I heard of her before?” She asked with confusion etched on her face, as she stared suspiciously at him.

Her father glanced at her, before staring at the door again. “She—we had our differences but that’s not important. Madison, everything I did, I did to secure a better future for you. When you told me about what Chase did, I couldn’t take it anymore and had to confront Brian.” He told her. “He was equally upset and had promised to talk to his son about it. Madison, I told him that I was no longer interested in giving you away to his Chase. ” her father added and stared at her.

“Why?” Madison asked as she swallowed nervously. All this time, she was wrong about her parents.
