Nine months later….

I didn’t understand the bizarre letter I had received from the casino. Who in their right mind sends a formal invitation to someone they've banned and then threatens them with a lawsuit for sexual harassment if they dare step foot inside again? It was beyond humiliating, and there was no way I could ever go back there.

"Seriously, the humiliation, Ells. I can't go back there," I exclaimed, frustration seeping into my voice. Glancing at my watch, I realized I had a mere three hours until my shift started, and wouldn't you know it, the casino was conveniently on my way.

"I don't get it, Eva," Nora replied, her brow furrowed with confusion.

"Me neither," I sighed in agreement.

"No, not about you going back, but did the card got through the door. I mean, it wasn't in the mailbox. It's almost like it was hand-delivered, and from the smell of the card, someone did a good job at hiding where it's been."
