Chapter 44 Releasing Lucian

Memories of my youth came to mind as my eyes filled with the scenery around me. I visibly shuddered and Azrael eyed me curiously.

"I've been here before," I growled bitterly and he grinned.

"You're lucky to have made it out alive then. This is Unseelie fae lands and the occupants who dwell here are very cruel and unkind," he said firmly. I nodded remembering being so frightened that I had wet myself. Azrael waved at both Noah and me to follow after him. Noah, still as his demon looked like he fitted right in with the gnarled trees and forbidden forest that we stepped through. Ravens with their beady black eyes watched us from above and called out into the gray sky as a warning that there were strangers afoot.
