It took nearly a month for the Silvermist Company to reassemble in Athelney.
Linus was fully healed with another scar to add to his collection, all the freed slaves had found their homes, and Eri had been returned to her mate.
Brite had accepted the contract coin but declined any further work as they waited to regroup.
It was a noisy morning in the inn when they finally joined up again, many of the band pleased to see their leader well.
“Boss!” Brite called as everyone settled down around two round tables pushed together. “Fucking hell, have you seriously been keeping that much gold the entire time?! I nearly choked when I heard how much the contract was worth, then I took the liberty of going through a few of the bags on the pack horses, figured you wouldn’t mind. If you had told me we had that much coin lying around, I would have said we could follow your dream to set up our own base ages ago.”
