A CONNECTION FELT...

Out in the woods...

" Logan," the head of department called.

" Yes George," he answered walking in the woods.

" Your disguise is poor. Perhaps you could have put on something dull and shallow. You damn know how to go about this, right?"

" Of course I do. You just watch. I have got my arrows. Can't wait to show my mates my hunt."

" Okay go on," George said.

Logan moved deeper into the woods. He had some noise. He focused, to hear from what direction the noise was coming from.

He finally heard it.

When he moved forward, he was shocked to see a monkey.

" Monkey," he said to himself and laughed.

At once a werewolf attacked him. He found himself falling to the ground. This was his first assignment so he didn't know how to go about it. He decided to plead with the werewolf but that didn't make sense.

He felt a sudden kinship at once. " Who are you?" he heard himself say.

But the werewolf climbed on him, trying to detect something. There was an eye contact between the two of them. At once Logan pushed it and stood.

Suddenly the werewolf ran into the bush but not far enough to be hidden from the wolf hunter. Without warning Logan raised his silver arrow and fired. He missed a shot, so he tried again.

Logan and George began to stroll.

" How was the wolf?" George asked.

" I can't explain but I felt a connection."

" You must be crazy Logan. A werewolf is who we are talking..."

Logan interrupted. " Take a look at this," he said moving forward. He bent and touched the brown reddish blood, he smelled it. " Smells fresh, like that of an animal. Perhaps, it is the werewolf." He looked around. " It must not have gone far."

George looked around.

" I think we should split. Check around here, while I check around there," he said gesturing with his hand.

George began searching so did Logan.

Logan's eyes caught a glimpse of an animal moving in the thick grass. He was certain it was his prey. He picked interest in watching the animal flee. It was damn weak and he was sure of that.

" Logan did you see it?" George asked from behind.

" Dammit I let it go."

" What do you mean?"

" I mean I didn't see it," he lied as he began going.

" Dude," George said, tapping on his back. " You tried mehn, no one has ever shot at a prey and still get the target at the first trial. You're the first."

Logan smiled. He wondered why he let his prey go, despite the fact he had the chance to attack. He consoled his soul with a word his mom taught him ' one who attacks from the back is still a learner ' and perhaps his soul accepted it.

" What happened to you?" Dawlish asked.

" I went hunting for food," Theresa said.

" That still doesn't explain what I asked you. Why are you bleeding?" Dawlish said. " Who did this to you?"

" I said I was hunting for food," Theresa screamed.

" Just tell me what happened to you." He asked.

Tears welled up in her eyes. " I think I saw my son today. Our Cursed."

" Do you mean Cursed did this to you?"

" That is what I don't understand," Theresa said amidst tears.

" I thought I warned you never to leave the werewolves habitat. Why then did you go to meet the humans?" Dawlish said walking away. " Our Cursed is gone. You will always feel like he's around or he is anybody and that is because you haven't let go of your memories with him. Learn to forget that we had another son. Learn to move on. It's been twenty years. What do you think? You will be able to recognize your son? If he was your son he would have felt the bond. Infact he wouldn't have tried to hunt you."

" But he didn't kill me. He let me go. He felt the bond." She cried out.

" You must be sick? Why wouldn't your son recognize..." Darwish asked.

" What son are you talking about?" Dwight interrupted.

" Em ... your mum was saying she ... em ... she saw someone that resembled you, earlier today when she went hunting."

" Oh, I'm thirsty for some blood. I'm going hunting, see you guys soon," he said and left.

Theresa heaved a sigh of relief.

" Because of your stupidity, our only son almost heard our conversation. This should be the last time, the conversation about our long gone son will ever come up again. Do you hear me?"

Theresa nodded.

" Put yourself together. I'm doing the same thing and it's hard for me too," Dawlish said. " I hope you understand me. This is for the best, my love. Or else you want to loose your second son and I know you can't think of ever losing your second son."

" It's all right Dawlish, I'm sorry for ever bringing up our past," Theresa said.

Dawlish walked to her and hugged her. Then he placed a tender kiss on her lips. " Let's go hunting," he suggested. " I smell fresh and clean food in the air."

" I'm certain mum and dad are hiding things from me," Dwight said to himself. " I must get to the bottom of this."

" Hey Logan, what's up?" asked a beautiful lady as she dropped a tray of food on top of the table.

" And who are you? How do you know me?"

" It's quite surprising that we both are in the same class and grade, yet you do not know me," the lady said sitting. Then she stretched out her hand to him for a handshake. " I'm Melissa McCarthy and I'm in medicine department. I study authentic and defensive medicine. I deal with therapy and theories too."

" That's nice. I'm sorry but I don't think I have seen you before... " he got interrupted but he still shaked her hand.

" There is nothing to apologize about. Tell me, what's your department?" She asked.

" Wolf hunting."

The answer came as a shock.

" Do people still involve themselves in things like that. Like imagine this is kind of weird, a werewolf. I have to say, I have never seen one before. But I have studied a lot about that and I was surprised that werewolves were not among the earliest extinction. Infact they are just natural selections. So tell me, how many have you hunted?"

" I was newly shifted into the class. My grades were not good enough for the department I had expected to be in."

" And which department is that?"

" Universe unification."

" Never heard of that," Melissa snarled.

" It's actually a new department. It is all about bringing the world together. It is actually a new era of unity. It must sound weird but it does exist. I have to go now. Wolf hunters hunt when the sun is out. Better ways of catching wolves. And since this is my first class I wouldn't want to miss out on any thing." He stood, " it was nice meeting you Melissa." He began to go.

Melissa laughed in her seat. She did find everything he said funny and unbelievable.

She considered what he said for a while, and then she let out a hiss of satisfaction
