THREAD THIRTY-SEVEN: REGRETS

“I DIDN’T come here to make amends. I just want to know what is the real reason for you to leave Dad. Does that have anything to do with what George wanted to tell me the last time we spoke?” Barbara said when she decided to meet Rebecca.

She noticed the disappointment on Rebecca’s face but she ignored it.

“Barba—”

“Just say it!” Barbara yelled as she slammed into the table.

“Y-your father betrayed me.”

She shook her head, unable to believe what she heard. “N-no. Dad can’t do that. Y-you’re just saying that because you want me to despise him as well.”

“That’s why I don’t want to tell it to you because I know that’s how you’ll react. But that’s the truth. It’s up to you whether you believe it or not.”

“No! I can’t believe you are that desperate,” she said then left with her hands clenched into fists.

Rebecca called her many times but she ignored her. There is a part of her that there is a possibility that what Rebecca had revealed was true and there’s only one who can prove that to her
