Her death.

Maria’s POV.

“Miranda, go and fetch her maid for me!” I yelled angrily. I heard that the king had slept with her again. Why should I let her get away with it?

“Yes, my queen,” she replied. I was pacing around my room, contemplating what to do with her, when Miranda entered.

“My queen,” she bowed. “What can I do for you?”

“I want you to poison your lady for me.” She fell to her knees and started crying.

“I can’t do this, my queen. Please don’t kill my lady.”

“Are you defying my orders? Do you think I am begging you to do it? No, I am not begging; I am ordering you.”

“No, I can’t do that.”

“Miranda, bring me that potion. Take this,” I said, handing it to her. “Poison her with this.” She took the potion and threw it away. I was furious. She was just like her mistress, a stubborn fool.
