CHAPTER THREE
Kendall’s POV
“Bold of you to think that what you did to me that night was okay.” I rolled my eyes wondering why he kept bringing up that night’s event.
“I told you that I have found my mate.”
“Who is he? Is he an Alpha?” I nodded my head.
“Of what pack, Kendall? What is his name?”
“I don’t know. We didn’t exchange names.” I bit my lips aware of how stupid I sounded.
My father shook his head at me. “He could be a lowly Alpha of a weak pack. Do you think your getting together with him will do our pack any good? We will be mocked by others.”
“I don't care about that.”
“I don't care what you think Kendall. You are getting married to Drake and that is what is going to happen. And don't think of running away. You will only end up pissing him off.”
The door pushed open and the Beta rushed inside. “I’m sorry to disrupt your meeting Alpha but you have a guest.”
“What guest?” I sat properly and strained my ears.
The Beta stared at me for a while as I pretended to be reading the magazine on top of my father's desk. I knew they were using the mind link.
My father's eyes shone. I have never seen him as shocked as he is. He looked like he had seen a ghost. Who in the world had managed to bring out such a reaction from my father?
“Take her with you. Make sure she doesn't come out until everything is settled.” My father spoke out.
The Beta held his hand out to me and I stared at him in confusion.
“What is going on here?” I asked darting my eyes from one person to another.
“This is not a time for questions, Kendall. Go with him and stay wherever you are until I come for you.”
I shook my head and stomped my feet. “No, I am not leaving here until you tell me what is going on?” It is obvious that whoever came to pay my father a visit, had something to do with me.
What if he was another Alpha my father was trying to bid me off to? I won't let him decide on my future.
“Kendall this is not the time to argue and try to be independent. Do what I ask you to do for this time, please. I promise to tell you everything in detail later.” My father said worriedly, his eyes never leaving the door.
I wanted to shake my head and tell him that he wasn't going to keep his promise because the only promise he was good at keeping was the one that concerns him but I decided against it. This was the first time that my father was asking me for something nice.
I nodded at the Beta and I heard my father heaved a sigh of relief.
The Beta opened the door for me but before I could walk through it, someone of immense power walked through it. His aura made me want to submit. I was an Alpha so I was able to fight his aura off. It was harder than normal. I raised my head to look at him because he smelled familiar but the Beta’s body covered me from seeing him.
“Go.” My father mouthed and I nodded.
“Nice to meet you, Alpha Atlas.” His voice sent shivers to my spine and I stopped on my track. There was no way that this was a coincidence.
“To what do I owe this sudden visit?”
I wanted to go back inside but Beta Nox held my hand.
“Let's go.” He said quietly.
“I have something to say and it includes your daughter so she is staying.” It was then I turned to face him.
My eyes met his gaze. It was him, my mate. What was he doing in front of my father? Had he come to tell my father about us? I couldn't help but blush at the thought of that. Beta Nox tugged at my dress but I pushed his hand away.
“You came to see me. I don't see how my daughter came to this conversation. She has a lot of things to do.”
“I don't.” I cut in and walked into the office. I avoided my father's eyes as I did so knowing that he would have been plotting ways to kill me.
My eyes were fixed on no one else other than my mate. He was seated comfortably on the chair with his legs crossed.
He dipped his hand inside his coat and threw a couple of cards at my father.
“That is my wedding invitation card. You are invited as the special guest of honor. I came to invite you myself so you must attend it.” My body stopped functioning when I heard him say those words.
So he wasn't here to tell my father that I was his? I bent my head down, unable to look at any of them, scared that I would burst into tears if I did.
He really came to my pack unannounced to invite my father to his wedding in front of me. I am sure that he was going to reject me in front of my father. Maybe I should have listened to my father earlier.
“What is this?” My father asked.
“My wedding invitation card.”
“I can see that but why is my daughter's name written as the bride?” I looked up to watch my father stare at him with a confused expression.
“That is because she is the one I am getting married to. She is my mate.” I choked on nothing and started coughing hysterically.
His eyes met mine. They softened for a second then hardened back then he removed his eyes from mine. The change was so fast that I began to question my consciousness.
“I disapprove of this ceremony. My daughter has already chosen a mate for herself. She doesn't want you.”
“I didn't choose him, you forced him on me.” I cut in again.
“You can't give what is mine to others because you can.” His eyes rested on mine and he held my gaze for a longer period of time.
“I will be on my way. Prepare for the wedding ceremony.” He said and stood up from the seat and walked out of the office.
“You won't marry him and that is final!” My father barked after he left but I shook my head.
“He is my mate. I am going with him whether you approve of it or not.”
“Listen to me Kendall. I am doing this for your future. You are going to appreciate me when the time comes.” I scoffed at him.
“Appreciate you? All you have done is to do whatever pleases you, not caring on whose feelings you hurt, even though it was your daughter’s. I am tired of thinking that you will accept me for who I am and not what I can offer to you.” I screamed at him.
“You will get married to Drake. End of discussion.” He said and walked out of the room but I followed him closely.
Chapter FourKendall’s POVMy mother and my sister stood outside the door. My mother shook her head at me asking me to keep my mouth shut but I rolled my eyes. If he controls them, he can't control me.“I will rather run away with my mate than end up with someone who is like you!”“I am not surprised. You are a result of your mother's disobedience.” He said bitterly, pointed at my mother and left.“Listen to your father, Kendall. You can't…”“No mom, I'm going to do whatever I want to do. Don't expect me to live under his shadows like you. Sometimes, I wished I wasn't born into this family.” I spat. My mother stared at me for a while then she shook her head.“Follow what he says, Kendall. That is the only way we can survive.” I shook my head. I was going to make a difference.******I stared at myself in the mirror as they worked on enhancing my beauty. This was the day that I will start writing my own story. The door opened and my mother stepped inside. She wasn't smiling. She just
Chapter Five Kendall’s POVI never thought the day of the festival would turn out like this. The air should have been filled with excitement and joy, but instead, it felt heavy with tension and resentment. My father, as usual, had been in one of his moods, barking orders and criticizing every move we made. Watching my mother and sister obey his every command without question made my blood boil.It was as if they were programmed to do whatever he said, no matter how unreasonable or unfair it seemed. I couldn’t stand it anymore. As we prepared for the festivities, I pulled my mother and sister aside, hoping to reason with them. “Can’t you see what he’s doing to us?” I whispered urgently, my frustration seeping into every word. “We don’t have to take this. We can stand up to him, together.”But before I could finish my words, my mother’s hand connected with my cheek in a sharp slap. Shocked, I stumbled backward, the sting of her betrayal burning on my skin.“How dare you speak against y

Chapter SevenDeclan’s POVAs the last of the rogues fled, defeated, Kendall turned to me, her eyes beaming with tears in them. “Are they gone? Are we safe now?” she whispered questions.Turning to her, I offered a reassuring smile, though I could see the fear lingering in her eyes. “Don’t worry, Kendall,” I said, my voice calm and steady. “We’re safe now. The rogues won’t dare to attack us again.”Kendall nodded, though her expression remained tense with worry. I could understand her apprehension; it was only natural to fear the unknown, especially in times of danger.I knew that my pack was more than capable of handling any threat that came our way. “Alpha,” one of my men approached. “We’ve taken care of them, but a few managed to escape into the woods. What are your orders?”I considered my options for a moment before nodding decisively. “Send out a search party,” I instructed. “I want those rogues found and brought to justice. We cannot allow them to continue threatening the terri

Declan remained as stubborn and cold as ever, his indifference to me constantly reminded me of my failure to win his affection. The pack members, too, made it clear that I was not welcome among them. They treated me with disdain and suspicion, their eyes cold and unwelcoming every time as they went about their duties. It was clear that they saw me as nothing more than an outsider, an stranger among them.
