I cautiously made my way back into the house, my heart pounding in my chest. It was almost three am when I arrived and I'd sprinted all the way from the deserted road, running in my beast form and hoping no stronger beast attacked me and snatched the staff of authority.

Vlad would hate me forever.

Adrenaline coursed through my veins, urging me to move swiftly and silently.

I breathed a sigh of relief when I passed the security guards at the gate. The half-awake guards flashed their lights at me, surpirsed but not asking questions much to my relief.

"Please don't tell my dad I snuck in this early. He'd be pissed," I said to Roger, the chief security officer at the pack house.

He grunted a response and I walked away. I couldn't risk my dad seeing me. He'd ask questions until he unraveled the truth.
