Chapter 50— Awake and angry

Rosalie's eyes fluttered open. She shut them back as she stirred on the bed. Agonizing pain and hammering in her head clawed her chest at once.

She groaned as she stirred and gently, her eyes flickered open. This time, she squinted them until her eyes took in the hospital's white intricate ceilings.

The antiseptic smell of the hospital welcomed her, causing an irritating clog in her throat. She groaned once more and at once, a distant voice echoed in her ear.

"Rosalie," it was Pamela, "Rosalie," Pamela called expectantly as Rosalie moaned in pain.

Her eyes adjusted to the rays but not to the pain. She sniffed and Pamela grabbed the hand she stretched out. "Rosalie,"

"Mum?" Rosalie bit on her lip to take in the pain and at the same time stared at her mother seated in front of her, "mum, where am I?" She moaned when she stirred.

"Stay calm, your leg is bandaged," Pamela whispered amidst her happiness. She couldn't believe Rosalie was awake.
