Before the blood moon

The night was chilly, by human standards. However, Serena didnt feel it anymore. Her werewolf skin could withstand low temperatures easily. The music from the grand hall wafted around Serena as she stood near the railing looking down into the forest. The ground was several feet below but she could land safely if she was careful. She had been practising running and jumping as a wolf. She was fast, very fast. Much faster than the pack's strongest beta. Speed was something God-given. Even as a human she was quick, although not quick enough to run from the rogue who attacked her. 

That brought her to her current turmoil. Why was it that the rogue chose her, the supposed fiery one and Dorcas saved her and also turned out to be her mate. Right before the rare blood moon when the prophecy would be fulfilled. Why was the series of coincidences so perfectly aligned? It seemed almost staged.
