Its breath was full against my nose, breathing murder and anger like raging fire. There was no doubt. This was the Lycan—the Lycan who killed my father. My fingers pulled at its hairy wrist as I choked.

It didn't even budge. In a moment of strength, using my feet, I kicked against its chest and caught unawares, he staggered back, watching me as I fell out of bed, choking. My hands were on my throat.
