Tatiana's POV
The Luna dinner was an informal event. Sadie was satisfied with a simple barbeque. As dusk fell over the property and the twinkling lights popped on, Tatiana and Luca made their way out to the yard. Sadie was already there mingling amongst pack members. Luca looked unusually informal in his jeans and t-shirt, but it suited him well. His butt in those jeans was enough to do her in, she giggled, and Luca looked back at her.
"What is so funny?"
"Nothing, I appreciate the view is all."
He shook his head, realizing what she was viewing, and asked, "Are you going to stare at me like a piece of meat all night or are you going to help me serve some BBQ?"
She raised an eyebrow, "Can't I do both?"
He grabbed her and kissed her, "You better not start something we can't finish," a soft growl rumbled in his chest as he nipped at her lower lip.
Tia fanned herself with her hand.
Luca laughed and turned, heading over to the servi
Carina's POVIt was hard to believe the day had finally arrived. They were officially moving out of the packhouse and heading out on their world travels. It was time to say goodbye to an adventure that started over twenty-five years ago. She remembered first arriving in the Kalaloch territory and feeling overwhelmed. It was so different than her midwestern pack. Her home pack had been a lot smaller and less structured. She was very intimidated by the thought of being Luna to such a large, established pack. It made her chuckle now to think back on it. She had since ruled as Luna of the pack, raised her pups, and supported her Alpha. Bran had been an excellent Alpha and mate. He was tenacious, intelligent, and well respected. Now their son had taken over, and she was comforted to know her pack would be in competent hands. She was proud of the people both Duncan and Tatiana had become. Her only concern was whether Tatiana would find her place. Carina could tell from the fi
Tatiana's POVLater that afternoon, after Bran and Carina had left. Luca and Tatiana went to the Village to train. As they arrived, Gaby and Zoe were waiting with ten females and three males.Tia looked at Luca, "It seems like I may need some help.""Indeed, It looks like you have your work cut out for you," he chuckled. She raised an eyebrow at him."Yes, I will help on one condition.""What?" she sighed."On the condition that we double up on your training."She massaged her forehead with her right hand, "Fine, but we need to talk Duncan into finding someone else to take over pup training."They climbed out of the car and walked over to Gaby."Hi, Guys! We have a few more people interested in training.""I see that. Hello Everyone! I am Tatiana from Kalaloch Pack, and this is our Zeta Luca. We have a lot to cover today, so we better get started.Duncan's POVShortly after his parents left, J
Tatiana’s POV Both Luca and Duncan left before Tatiana woke up the next day. Sadie was in the kitchen when she went to grab a coffee. Sadie eyed her when she entered the room, but remained silent. “If you are going to lecture me, Luna please wait until I have had my coffee.” Tia grumbled. Sadie rolled her eyes. “I have no intention of lecturing you. It is between you and your brother, but you guys better work it out. I will not let you guys tear this pack apart.” Tia went back upstairs to the office. She kneeled on the floor and started picking up paperwork. Duncan trashed it completely. She felt terrible pushing him to that point, but she couldn’t abandon the rogues in the Village. They were a part of her. Duncan was also a big part of her. He wouldn’t force her to choose, would he? Tatiana was so busy working, and she did not hear Duncan return until she felt his eyes on her from the doorway. He leaned against the door
Chapter Thirty FourTatiana’s POVRyder arrived a few weeks ago, and things were settling in to a routine. Tia quite liked him. He was the breath of fresh air their house needed. He even made Luca laugh. Training at the Village continued. The number of participants soared with each fresh attack. Construction continued throughout their facilities, but the pack house was completed. Luca moved into Tatiana’s suite since he already slept there most nights. Despite the comfortable routine, Tia looked forward to getting away. Luca coordinated an extended weekend in Seattle. Before then, they had to deal with the Alpha meeting. Duncan was hosting it at the gate house complex. It wasn’t a gatehouse, but a facility handling pack defense. Located off the main entrance into the territory, it included security guards at the gate. The complex contained patrol and scout training facilities, underground bunkers, jai
Duncan’s POVDuncan arrived back at the pack house in time for dinner. He quickly checked in with the patrols before heading inside. The borders still quiet, he plodded into the kitchen. Already seated at the table, Ryder complained about attending school, Tia was teasing him, and Luca looked on bemused. One day until the Alpha meeting, and Duncan’s first time hosting. The whole thing had him on edge. Vex’s pack was eerily quiet. He had a hard time concentrating on the conversation at the table. It became abundantly clear when he looked up to find everyone staring at him, waiting for a reply when he didn’t realize they had asked him a question.“Sorry, I’m distracted. What was the question?”“Clearly.” said Sadie.Tatiana snorted before coming to his rescue. “Duncan’s had a busy day. Sadie told Ryder you supported him going back to school.”
Duncan’s POV As Dante and Lux reached Sampson’s road, Mike hadn’t yet arrived. They saw the glow of the fire and smelled the scent of unfamiliar werewolves. Crouching in the tall reeds, they waded closer to the camp. Surprised by the size of the camp, Duncan counted at least 10 warriors and a few scouts. Some wandered the perimeter, while the rest gathered around the fire. “Why so many warriors for a meeting?” Luca noticed a scout heading in their direction, stepping beyond the light of the fire. He motioned to Duncan, who, anticipating his path, moved closer to the shoreline to intercept him. They waited. Hoping Mike would not show up and scare him off. As the scout passed by, Duncan grabbed him, covering his mouth. Mike pulled up in a Suburban, and they pulled him inside. “I will not hurt you, but if you try to shift or try to get away, I will fucking kill you.” The scout’s eyes widened, but he nodded in understanding. “What a
Duncan’s POV Duncan looked at Justin. “You and Colson have the second and third largest populations of rogues in your area. Will you do your part to ensure their safety?” Justin nodded. “I will.” Duncan looked at Colson. “I will.” “And the rest of you, whose prepared to support the laws of the Pack Alliance?” As Duncan glanced in their direction, they all said, “Aye.” When he looked at Dylan, he asked, “What about Mora? Are you prepared to uphold the laws of the Pack Alliance?” “Aye.” Duncan stopped in front of Vex and looked him squarely in the eyes. “Vex, I know where you stand. We don’t need to pretend for the others. If I find out you’re responsible for an unprovoked rogue attack, I will make it my mission to bring you to justice at the tribunal. I am watching you.” Vex sneered and glanced at Naren. Duncan leaned in closer until he was face to face with Vex. “Make no mistake, I
Tatiana’s POVAs their final training for the week ended, Tatiana became excited about the weekend away. She had been avoiding Duncan since the Alpha meeting, which was difficult since they live in the same house. She was ready to leave, and not look back for a couple of days. Luca was in good spirits as well. Tia visited Seattle once with her father when she was very young, but she could barely remember it. Once they arrived back at the pack house, they quickly packed, and Tia mink linked Sadie to let her know they were leaving.“Sorry girl, we’ll let you out as soon as we get back.”As she watched to scenery change from forest to the beach back to forest again, it lulled her to sleep. She woke to find they were on the ferryboat for the city. She perked up and looked at Luca.“So you woke up, eh?”“Sorry, it happens when I go on long drives.”“It’
