Episode 27

A photograph of Shaw sitting peacefully in a park arrived in Cole's inbox. As soon as he laid eyes on it, his phone rang, indicating an incoming call.

Cole answered, a sense of urgency in his voice, "If you even think about harming a single hair on his head..."

Cara interrupted, attempting to calm Cole down,

"Relax, now you can understand what it feels like to be on the receiving end. To constantly live with the knowledge that your life or the life of someone you deeply care about is in danger."

Cole's mind raced, realizing that Cara had protected David not just because he was Shaw's grandson but because she genuinely cared about him. "Maybe she loves him," he thought to himself.

Curiosity getting the better of him, Cole inquired,

"So tell me, is it an unrequited love?"

Confused, Cara asked, "What do you mean?"

Cole pushed further, "The love you have for that fool—does he even know?"

Annoyed, Cara snapped back, "Don't you dare call him that. Listen, I'll make you an offer: back off
