Chapter 4
Missy’s lips were temporarily sealed as she found herself speechless with her eyes glued to the huge man towering above her.The urge to toed herself upward and to kiss that lips of his inundated her desire that eats depth up to her feelings. The need to taste him, to feel what his lips would taste like against her spreading through her system like a wildfire. But that can’t be done to someone hurting your wrist and inflicting minor pains to your body, plus he’s a psychotic stranger that just proves the reputation given to him is no rumor.“Please leave me alone.” She pleaded, tired from struggling.“Are you telling me what to do?” His brows raised at her, daringly as he move them both till Missy’s back was now touching the nearby wall.Missy kept her lips shut, fearful of what his next action might be, than just gazing up at his intense eyes that shows nothing than a wrath unfolding on her when she has no idea what she did to wrong him.“Don’t keep quiet when I ask you a question? Is that clear?” He warned, in a slow steady dark voice, before his large palm went up and around Missy’s neck, swallowing it all in a fold and gently applying pressure.“W-what are you doing?” Missy gasped out, already feeling the impact of his hand folded around her neck.“You possess the nerve to question me…” he dragged his words, applying more pressure.Causing a louder gasp to fall out of Missy’s mouth as the choke took a greater effect, her both hands found it way up to his, struggling to remove his hand.“Get your hands off me or it worsens.” He declared icily, strangling her harder.“Alright, but please, please please please, stop please. I beg you so much.” Missy begged, sweats foams already covering her face, feeling squeezed by the palm choking her and causing a blockage in her air passage that affects her body greatly.Remitting her pleads, his head bent leaning downward to his ear, in a way Missy could feel his hot breath on her, then he whispered. “We need to work on our rules beautiful, that’s the guarantee I have that you’ll live longer to serve all the punishment I have in stored for you, and don’t even think of leaving like you did the others have left me, it won’t be possible because I won’t let it happen.”“W-w-wha-what d-do you mean?” Missy stammered, frightened by his statement and still dealing with his pressured choke on her.“You don’t get to run away like the other three did, you’ll be here with me forever. Once I marry you, you’ll be mine forever.”A smirk toppled over his lips as he finished saying that, “Tell your parents I’m gone and that tomorrow evening is the wedding where you will follow me home that same night.” He said to her, releasing her neck and wrist before disappearing out of her presence.Missy let out a breathe of relief the moment she’s sure he’s gone, her palm slapping softly on her chest while the other rubbed gently against her neck that felt sore from how hard his hand was.“What’s wrong with him?” Missy asked herself, as she try to understand what just happened. The world deemed a crazy man wicked, because he doesn’t seem wicked and rather crazy. He needs help, like he needs to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital quickly before it’s too late.Missy went in search of her father, to go explain to him what just happened and see if there’s another way to get his business back without involving with the Locke’s.She knows he would either be in the study room or in his house office, her walk to the study room was fast and swift. And in no time she was standing in front of the door pushing it open, she met no one thus turning back and making her way over to his office room. There at the entrance before entering she could hear his voice already, she approached pushing the door open but the call her father was on had her halting and deciding to eavesdrop. She leaned merging close with the door with her ears opened so the ongoing conversation could become clear to her.“What!” Davis had exclaimed from inside on the phone putting Missy’s curiosity more on the edge.“You want four million dollars now or my company won’t be released or given back to me?” He had said again, making Missy wonder who he’s discussing with.“You asked for three million dollars, and I promise to give you tomorrow, and now four million. It’s alright, just don’t claim my company yet. Please I’m begging you, it’s my whole life. I’m loosing my daughter because of this, hello? Hello? Shit!”The call must have ended.Missy pulled back upon hearing that, pushing the door open and revealing her presence to her father.“Dad I can’t marry that crazy patient that escaped getting full treatment in an asylum, he still needs help, he’s crazy….” Missy railed on, ranting on why she can’t go with this decision.“Calm down, calm down, now tell me what suddenly happened, because before we left that dining I witness the both of you developing a connection. Huh?” He managed to stop her ranting, saying back to her and attaching a wink to support his last word.“Yeah because I thought the world was wrong, but dad look.” Missy pointed at her wrist, “Look again,” she pointed at her neck. Both places having a red scratch over the skin layer.“What!” Davis moved closer, examining her wrist and her neck.“And he keeps talking as if I’m someone he knows before, he literally said I won’t run away like the others did from him. Dad I don’t wanna marry him please.” Missy begged, desperation in her eyes as she held her father’s hands. “There should be something we can do about this, we can get help from another family. Please don’t let me marry him.”“Missy honey!” Davis called, squinting his gaze at the spot.“Yes.”“Are you sure you didn’t hurt yourself so you can lie that he did and to run away from this wedding?” Davis inquired.“What?!” Missy jerked away from him, anger surfacing on her face. “Why would I do that?”“Calm down now honey, if he truly did I will look into it okay, you should go now and go prepare yourself. Your wedding is tomorrow’s evening and it’s late already, go get some rest.”“Did you not hear the part where I said he hurt me and I won’t like us pursuing the idea of me marrying him?!” Missy yelled, awed that her father is pushing her on instead.“And I said I will look into it, you should go rest, tomorrow is going to be a big or stressful day for you. Don’t do this now and just help your father out, I’m really in a tight spot. You should go get some rest.” Davis urged her further, even moving close and patting her shoulder.“Are you for real right now?”“Missy, one of the guards found a traveling bag at the backyard where your room’s window is located. You planned on running away didn’t you?” Davis asked, changing the topic already.“Get your hands off me, I should never have believe you’re actually a good person.” With that said, she stormed out of his office.Missy walked in a scary pace, not really knowing where she’s going and just moving as her feet pleads. Her thoughts opening back up on what happened at the dining earlier this evening when she was left alone with him.She knows nothing about him, what she heard are just rumor. Tonight is actually the first time she’s seeing him face to face. And heck he shouldn’t have been blessed with that face of his.Missy made it to her room, rushing over to where her phone was, turning it on she had 16missed calls from Thea; her best friend, 11text messages from her still, none from her boyfriend. More texts from her high school friends on while she didn’t come to the party. She ignored everything going straight to the internet, and began searching about Tyler. They were many articles about him, his success, his breakthrough, a lot of things. However, amidst this all was a particular one, “TRAGEDY BEFELL THE KNOWN TYLER LOCKE AS HE FACE BETRAYAL AND HEARTBREAK FROM HIS LONGTERM LOVE AND BEST FRIEND”This caught Missy’s attention as she clicked on it, reading through. As she reads closer to the end, amazement spread wider on her face on to what it’s said that he went through or narrated that happened to him, just at the end and attached to the article was a picture of him, his fiancé as she was referred, and his best friend.Missy’s eyes squinted, her gaze focusing on the wife’s picture, zooming in on it she realize her eyes wasn’t deceiving her.The lady in the picture looks so much like her, same eyes, same hair, same everything except for their age. She’s like the older version of her, and Missy is the younger. They’re like reality’s doppelgängers. Now she get why he’s on to her.“I’m so fucking screwed.” She said, as it rush in her head, realizing why he wanted her, why he said he won’t let her go, why he said he will punish her.He wants revenge on her, but she isn’t her, she only shares a resemblance that’s not even her fault.Chapter 5 Standing in front of Davis Lane as he portrayed the priest and reading out to them the wedding vows that must be taken, Missy’s face speaks so much of her ongoing emotions, her feelings towards all that’s happening; and how she wishes to get away from it. While Tyler on the other hand held a void face to all that’s happening. Dressed in a beautiful laced up white gown, it sparkled against her body while her face gleams in perfection under the light makeup smeared on her face. “Do you Tyler Locke, take Missy Lane to be your wife, to love and cherish, to be with her during worst times, in sickness and in health, in good and bad times, till death do you both apart?” Davis read out, directed to Tyler with a gravid look expressed on his face.“Yes I do,” came out Tyler’s plain reply. “Do you Missy Lane, take Tyler Locke to be your husband, to love and cherish, to be with him during worst times, in sickness and in health, in good and bad times, till death do you both apart?” Th
Chapter 6 Missy’s lips couldn’t stop quivering in shock, her expression could only helped expressing on the matter. She stared in awe at her mother who finally took notice of her and turning fully to face her. They peered at each other with different insinuations. “Mom,” Missy called with her tone feeling held back, “Who are you and what did you mean by that?” She asked, taking failing breaths with many thoughts dribbling her head while trying to comprehend what she just heard.Mrs Lane scoffed with an eye roll, “I’m sadly not your actual mother, so stop with the icky title now that you know.” She revealed, looking away from her and back to zipping the traveling bag between her legs. Missy was beyond wordless, the capability to express in words lost in her system as she stared dumbfounded at the woman in front of her. What did she meant by that? Is she adopted? That would make sense if it aligned with what she heard. “Wha-““How-““??” Missy couldn’t form anything reasonable and o
Chapter 7Tyler tried to focus on his meal but the disappearance of Missy from beside him wouldn’t allow that. Where could she be? She should be back by now, she only went to call her mother didn’t she? What then is taking her this long. His fork tapped against his meal in silence, leaving his lowered gaze focused on Davis. Davis who was conversing with several friends and relatives wishing him congratulations and asking how Missy and Tyler become acquainted to the point of marrying each other. His business partner, investors in his company, all came to the event of Missy Lane marrying into the family of the Locke. Some asked if the marriage is arranged because lately Davis has been looking to expand and grow his company more. To a bigger level in the city, they believed uniting with the richest family in the city would archive that for him. Davis kept his tongue smooth and lied his way out of every question to keep their doubts sealed and that everything is okay. That the weddi
Chapter 8Davis brought out his phone, his fingers tapping on the screen with agitation, he scrolled through his contacts as he quickly dialed Missy’s number. His teeth nibbling on his lower lip biting it with restlessness. The call went through, ringing out aloud as Davis anticipated dearly for her to pick the call, the call ended and it wasn’t picked. This fueled more anxiousness. He redialed the number and it was same. He could the tension rising up his chest. Then Davis decided to call her mother, he called her but the call never went through, surprisingly her number was switched off. “Lane, whatever game you’re playing with me right now. I need you to stop it, because if I decided to play my own game, I can assure more than your life would be on the line.” Tyler said to him, not fazed by the sweats which had surfaced covering Davis’ face from his forehead, rolling down to his cheek. “I’m not playing anything I swear.” Davis insisted, wishing his words could be proof by anyth
Chapter 9Davis felt his soul quivering at his sight, his hand felt stiff and motionless holding on to the phone that hanged against his ear.He stared with fright, unnecessary heat radiating from his within as it blows out panic that had his heart thumping erratically. Right in his two clear eyes, he could see his life at a gunpoint with no idea on how to escape it. He prayed and wished fervently in his mind for a miracle to happen, but he was sure nothing is going to happen. Missy screwed him up, and there’s nothing he and she can do about it. “Please you have-““Last words fella, not some words of consideration because I won’t be giving that.” Tyler never allowed him finish his statement. “Okay then.” The gun went down as Tyler corked it into action, his finger slid in the hole beneath the corner with his whole hand supporting through the hold, touching the narrow button that released the bullet and attempted to press against it before a phone started to ring. It was Davis’ pho
Chapter 10 Davis arrived at the door of his room, twisting the knob into opening but it was stiff and felt locked. He tried it again and it was same, certainly his doubt that it was indeed locked. He knocked three times on the door, “Missy are you in there?” Davis asked out aloud into the door. “Yes Dad, please open the door I have to tell you something really important.” Missy responded from inside, the urgency in her voice bringing about a curios look on Davis’ face. “Alright, I will try breaking it down.” He muttered as he moved back before barging the door with his arm, he shrugged the painful impact off before retrying the procedure that only left the door juggling and not attempting to break.Feeling frustrated already he sent his leg flying into a kick and straight to meeting the door that still didn’t bulge into opening.“Move aside,” Tyler’s voice quested for a chance, having Davis halting his trials that was becoming frustrating for him. He moved aside like he was told, g
Chapter 11 Missy sat next to Tyler at the back seat of the moving car, quiet with an extremely troubled mind. The same woman that had confess to her was seen by her standing right there with a glass of water and offering it to her. That’s mostly disturbing and well planned. How did she do all this? It’s obvious everything is well planned out and she left no room for impediment or anything. What a mastermind she is.She knew everything now, but her father is still in the dark. She needs to find out where she kept her mother, who exactly she is? She never revealed her real identity to her. She only confessed to her motives. Missy quietly turned her head to face him, the thought of how a man can be this good looking disrupting her troubled mind as she gawked silently at the man seating next to her with his head rested on the seat’s headboard while mutedly vibing to the music blasting from the EarPods plugged in his ears. He was oblivious to her eyes on him with his eyes closed. Tha
Chapter 12Missy was expectedly quiet throughout the rest of the ride. She just doesn’t know what else to say to him, to convince him that she shouldn’t be getting all he has set to give her, other than to just accept her new reality that is indeed going to break her. There seems to not be any other option. He knew she’s innocent, yet he’s still going with what his heart told him to do. They arrived finally at the big domain where Tyler reside. She stared through the window looking at the beautiful features cementing a vibrant view at the exterior of the Luxurious Manor. Albeit the sky was dark, the lights across everywhere illuminated her vision. Driving through the circular driveway, the driver halted the car at the feet of a sumptuous looking mansion that wowed Missy away the moment her eyes met with it.She forgot who’s taking her in, he’s not ordinarily named the youngest billionaire in the city. These are one of the qualifications that made him that, one could guess the exorbit
