Chapter 5
Standing in front of Davis Lane as he portrayed the priest and reading out to them the wedding vows that must be taken, Missy’s face speaks so much of her ongoing emotions, her feelings towards all that’s happening; and how she wishes to get away from it. While Tyler on the other hand held a void face to all that’s happening.Dressed in a beautiful laced up white gown, it sparkled against her body while her face gleams in perfection under the light makeup smeared on her face.“Do you Tyler Locke, take Missy Lane to be your wife, to love and cherish, to be with her during worst times, in sickness and in health, in good and bad times, till death do you both apart?” Davis read out, directed to Tyler with a gravid look expressed on his face.“Yes I do,” came out Tyler’s plain reply.“Do you Missy Lane, take Tyler Locke to be your husband, to love and cherish, to be with him during worst times, in sickness and in health, in good and bad times, till death do you both apart?” The same question was directed to Missy. She kept quite, gazing at the floor where her feet stamped on, tears gathered under her eyes quickly as they flowed down doing light damages to her makeup.Thinking back on yesterday where her life turn sour, thinking of the hell she’s stepping into. After finding out about Tyler’s life and reason for wanting her, she rushed to her father but he wouldn’t listen to her again because after finding the bag Missy had packed, he’s convinced she’s not hundred percent in on the plan and just trying to escape from everything. He even begged her to please stop and just go to bed.Missy tried talking to her mom but she didn’t see her throughout the night before going to sleep.Same happened till now that she’s getting married, her mother is weirdly nowhere to be found.“Missy I need you to answer right now,” Davis urged silently, in a low voice that only Tyler and Missy could hear.“Yes I do.” Missy’s response came out shakily, sniffing as she wiped the tears that slid down her cheeks away.“Then I pronounced you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride!” Davis let out in vivid happiness.Tyler turned to face Missy with her doing same but with her head bent, his hand moved to her face lifting it up gently by her jaw. His thumb rubbed softly on it with his eyes keened on the hazel orbs gazing up at him with tears clouding them.Missy’s eyes teared down back to his lips, the seductive plumped lips that blooms a different feeling in her, that same desire crept back in and she found herself anticipating dearly for the kiss.Slowly leaning his head down Tyler captured Missy’s lips in his, letting her feel the softness of his lips, and exchanging the sweetness as he rocked his lips perfectly against her till she gave more entrance unconsciously, falling into the kiss and swiping her tongue around with his deepening the kiss passionately. Tyler smirked as he pulled away.Blood tickled down Missy’s lips as she touched to feel what has happened to her, Tyler had bitten her on the lips. What could she say or do? They’re now married and she’s doomed.“And now it’s time for the wedding dinner, after the wedding dance of course.” Davis skipped away from their presence. “Music!” He yelled as the slow tune of music played out from the speakers, rimming through the hall.“Come on now couples, time to dance!” Davis gestured for them to come to the center of the floor.Tyler held out his palm for Missy to take, she glanced at his cold face, down back to his probably colder palm.Reluctantly her palm laid on his as he dragged her closer, he led her to the center, intertwining their hands as they rolled softly to the beat.Missy followed his dancing steps, promenade to the body, and finding her eyes glued to his face and not shifting away. Albeit he’s a beast disguised as a man, she can’t just deny gorgeous he looks. She wondered what the fiancé of his was thinking cheating on him with his best friend that doesn’t half match up to the man in front of her. He’s just so handsome her eyes refused to leave him, his placid oceanic eyes gaze back at her with full stoicism instead. Her eyes feed on his facial perfection, trailing her gaze slowly down to his lips as it called strangely for her again. Her tongue subconsciously swirled over her bottom lip, gracing over the cut Tyler invented earlier when they were asked to kiss. That moment rewinded in Missy’s head, how he had kiss with his made word- perfection, the way he knew perfectly how to caress his lips with hers was extraordinary, she felt more than alive, forgot at that moment she was marrying a monster and temporarily melted in his brief kiss that blown her imagination to wild places of doing more than a kiss with him.She wondered why she betrayed him? This man right here is everything a lady would want in a husband, but he was betrayed and toyed with according to what she read.By his best friend and the lady that claims to love him. The music ended with their bodily actions of dancing coming to an end also. The guests around them roared an applause for them.Missy attempted to pull her palm away but Tyler held onto it, leading her with him to the dinner table. He dragged out a chair for her to sit on, the act creasing Missy’s brows into confusion, she sat down digging in the gentleman’s act he just portrayed.“Where is your mother?” Davis asked, looking around the table that was getting filled with guests already to find his wife missing and not with them.“I should go look for her.” Missy stood up and before anyone could deny she had ran off, straight out of the hall and to the foyer, taking the stairs and running upstairs.Finish covering the stairs with her heels clicking on the golden tiled floor of the hallway solemnly, she rethink to the beginning of when her life was announced for destruction, when her life was sentenced to trauma. Her hands wrapped around herself as she pushed the tears that threatened to spill down her face back inside. She approached the room where a familiar voice was coming from. That must be where her mother was.Getting closer she suddenly stop, looking unsure to what she heard, she tipped closer for a clearer hearing.“I’m already on my way. I told you I have everything, he lost everything by willing them to me, my real identity as you know. We’ll talk later so goodbye.”Missy stood at the entryway, hearing the final words come out from the woman she thought was her mother into the phone she just brought down from her ear.“What the fuck!”Chapter 6 Missy’s lips couldn’t stop quivering in shock, her expression could only helped expressing on the matter. She stared in awe at her mother who finally took notice of her and turning fully to face her. They peered at each other with different insinuations. “Mom,” Missy called with her tone feeling held back, “Who are you and what did you mean by that?” She asked, taking failing breaths with many thoughts dribbling her head while trying to comprehend what she just heard.Mrs Lane scoffed with an eye roll, “I’m sadly not your actual mother, so stop with the icky title now that you know.” She revealed, looking away from her and back to zipping the traveling bag between her legs. Missy was beyond wordless, the capability to express in words lost in her system as she stared dumbfounded at the woman in front of her. What did she meant by that? Is she adopted? That would make sense if it aligned with what she heard. “Wha-““How-““??” Missy couldn’t form anything reasonable and o
Chapter 7Tyler tried to focus on his meal but the disappearance of Missy from beside him wouldn’t allow that. Where could she be? She should be back by now, she only went to call her mother didn’t she? What then is taking her this long. His fork tapped against his meal in silence, leaving his lowered gaze focused on Davis. Davis who was conversing with several friends and relatives wishing him congratulations and asking how Missy and Tyler become acquainted to the point of marrying each other. His business partner, investors in his company, all came to the event of Missy Lane marrying into the family of the Locke. Some asked if the marriage is arranged because lately Davis has been looking to expand and grow his company more. To a bigger level in the city, they believed uniting with the richest family in the city would archive that for him. Davis kept his tongue smooth and lied his way out of every question to keep their doubts sealed and that everything is okay. That the weddi
Chapter 8Davis brought out his phone, his fingers tapping on the screen with agitation, he scrolled through his contacts as he quickly dialed Missy’s number. His teeth nibbling on his lower lip biting it with restlessness. The call went through, ringing out aloud as Davis anticipated dearly for her to pick the call, the call ended and it wasn’t picked. This fueled more anxiousness. He redialed the number and it was same. He could the tension rising up his chest. Then Davis decided to call her mother, he called her but the call never went through, surprisingly her number was switched off. “Lane, whatever game you’re playing with me right now. I need you to stop it, because if I decided to play my own game, I can assure more than your life would be on the line.” Tyler said to him, not fazed by the sweats which had surfaced covering Davis’ face from his forehead, rolling down to his cheek. “I’m not playing anything I swear.” Davis insisted, wishing his words could be proof by anyth
Chapter 9Davis felt his soul quivering at his sight, his hand felt stiff and motionless holding on to the phone that hanged against his ear.He stared with fright, unnecessary heat radiating from his within as it blows out panic that had his heart thumping erratically. Right in his two clear eyes, he could see his life at a gunpoint with no idea on how to escape it. He prayed and wished fervently in his mind for a miracle to happen, but he was sure nothing is going to happen. Missy screwed him up, and there’s nothing he and she can do about it. “Please you have-““Last words fella, not some words of consideration because I won’t be giving that.” Tyler never allowed him finish his statement. “Okay then.” The gun went down as Tyler corked it into action, his finger slid in the hole beneath the corner with his whole hand supporting through the hold, touching the narrow button that released the bullet and attempted to press against it before a phone started to ring. It was Davis’ pho
Chapter 10 Davis arrived at the door of his room, twisting the knob into opening but it was stiff and felt locked. He tried it again and it was same, certainly his doubt that it was indeed locked. He knocked three times on the door, “Missy are you in there?” Davis asked out aloud into the door. “Yes Dad, please open the door I have to tell you something really important.” Missy responded from inside, the urgency in her voice bringing about a curios look on Davis’ face. “Alright, I will try breaking it down.” He muttered as he moved back before barging the door with his arm, he shrugged the painful impact off before retrying the procedure that only left the door juggling and not attempting to break.Feeling frustrated already he sent his leg flying into a kick and straight to meeting the door that still didn’t bulge into opening.“Move aside,” Tyler’s voice quested for a chance, having Davis halting his trials that was becoming frustrating for him. He moved aside like he was told, g
Chapter 11 Missy sat next to Tyler at the back seat of the moving car, quiet with an extremely troubled mind. The same woman that had confess to her was seen by her standing right there with a glass of water and offering it to her. That’s mostly disturbing and well planned. How did she do all this? It’s obvious everything is well planned out and she left no room for impediment or anything. What a mastermind she is.She knew everything now, but her father is still in the dark. She needs to find out where she kept her mother, who exactly she is? She never revealed her real identity to her. She only confessed to her motives. Missy quietly turned her head to face him, the thought of how a man can be this good looking disrupting her troubled mind as she gawked silently at the man seating next to her with his head rested on the seat’s headboard while mutedly vibing to the music blasting from the EarPods plugged in his ears. He was oblivious to her eyes on him with his eyes closed. Tha
Chapter 12Missy was expectedly quiet throughout the rest of the ride. She just doesn’t know what else to say to him, to convince him that she shouldn’t be getting all he has set to give her, other than to just accept her new reality that is indeed going to break her. There seems to not be any other option. He knew she’s innocent, yet he’s still going with what his heart told him to do. They arrived finally at the big domain where Tyler reside. She stared through the window looking at the beautiful features cementing a vibrant view at the exterior of the Luxurious Manor. Albeit the sky was dark, the lights across everywhere illuminated her vision. Driving through the circular driveway, the driver halted the car at the feet of a sumptuous looking mansion that wowed Missy away the moment her eyes met with it.She forgot who’s taking her in, he’s not ordinarily named the youngest billionaire in the city. These are one of the qualifications that made him that, one could guess the exorbit
Chapter 13 The night passed by and she was awake all through the darkness. Weeping as she buried herself deep in her thought that this is now the life she would embrace. That everything changed and there was nothing she could have done about it. She’s saving her father, hence putting herself in a dire situation. Her eyes were heavily swollen and reddened from the lack of sleep and the tears secreted from it. Heavy bags laid below and above her sockets under her lashes, bringing her orbs into a shallow view. She laid there still and lifeless on her bed, sniffing against the pillow her head was buried in. Not wanting worser things happening to her, she went to the dinner yesterday to help with the preparation like the woman demanded her to.Tyler arrived and when it was time to eat, he said he lost his appetite just seeing her and doesn’t wish to eat again, he left there with the other that she also must not have dinner. He asked her to return back to her room empty stomach that the
