Chapter 140

Kathryn stayed by Jessica's side until Matthew returned. Only when Matthew reassured Kathryn that he would always be by Jessica's side did Kathryn finally agree to leave. Still, she wasn't completely reassured. Jessica, too, urged her to go.

It was already 4:00 am when she returned to Rexton Manor from the hospital. She was so tired that she immediately lay down on the couch. She wanted to sleep, but Chris dragged her out and said, "Go and have a bath."
