Hazel’s POV

I was having a hard time concentrating at work. My head was aching from worrying about a lot of things. I wished I could just disappear with my kids and go to a secluded place. I hated attention because when people paid close attention to you, they found one or two things that were bad about you. I did not want the scrutiny that came with being close to the boss. I had wanted to talk to him about it but thought against it. There was no use, I would just lay low, do my work and go home to my kids. There was no use in stirring the pot.

That was what I had been doing, laying low, until Drake approached me.

“Hello Hazel. I need to talk to you now. Follow me to my office.’ He said when he found me in the kitchen.

The evening was hot and I was getting a bottle of water from the fridge before going home. I had had a constant headache for two days now. I did not want to ask for an off day for fear of rumors spreading and people pointing fingers about something as simpl
