Noah’s POV

I was in my office trying to concentrate on the monthly report I had been given by my beta. Ever since my wolf started misbehaving, he had been the one taking care of most pack affairs. He had forced me to take a back seat after I almost beat a pack member to death. He had brought me the wrong pair of shoes. My beta knew that if he did not take over, then the pack members would notice and there would be chaos. Some would take advantage of my situation and use it to try and overthrow me. You could never trust power thirsty wolves.

A lot of things were running through my mind. Why was the private investigator I had hired taking so long? Hazel was just one person with little to no social life, what was taking him so long? Had he found something incriminating against Hazel? I was still mulling over Hazel’s issue when I heard a knock on the door.
