The couple made small talk as they drove, Alec asked about the friend Eden was walking with. She told him her name was Astrid, and they had been friends since high school.
After about 20 minutes the couple arrived in front of the Hollywood sign and since it was evening, the sign was lit up. Eden had always wanted to go but never had time. You'd be thinking, she lives in LA and the sign is always there, or 'who hasn't been to the Hollywood sign living in LA?’ Eden. Also, Eden was from Canada, she's studying in LA on a scholarship, so she hasn't been here all her life. Moving from Canada was a little hard for her, it's been a year, and she was doing okay. She met Alec 4 months in, and he taught her so much.Eden also had a cousin in Korea who taught her everything there was to know about living here so Eden's move wasn't the most difficult thing. She could thank Eric, her cousin, for that.Eden was a Law major and a business major; she always thought of working in the business world and having her own company."Well?" Alec said as he held Eden's hand, Eden turned and hugged Alec like he had given her the greatest gift."It's not that big of a deal babe." Alec said with a laugh and hugged her back."Everything you do for me is a big deal. You know I never had time to see the sign and now you brought me here, you're amazing." Eden had her arms around her lover and looked at him with stars in her eyes."You mean absolutely everything to me Eden, and I promsie I will do whatever it takes to keep you happy. You literally lit up my world when you came into my life, and for that, I am eternally grateful to you." Alec said with so much love in his eyes. He meant every word, Eden was his whole world.
"You too Alec. I was so lost when I came to LA, but then I met you and I was a little less scared. So thank you too, for everything." Eden said wrapping her arms around Alec and hugging him tight.
The two spent a couple of hours at the top watching the city lights and seeing the stars. It was perfect. Alec never told Eden what he did for a living to be earning big money, but Eden knew he'd tell her when he felt right, she trusted him. The two had been together for 4 months now, they were friends before that but never made their relationship official. It was almost midnight and Alec dropped Eden off at home at her apartment. Eden had invited the other to come in, but Alec declined saying he had some work he needed to do. So, with a final kiss, Eden exited the white vehicle and waved goodbye to Alec as she headed to the doors of her apartment complex. The two had been together for 4 months, as mentioned before, and they couldn't be happier. Sure, the secret of Alec's job remained but for good reason. Apart from that, they really didn't have secrets, they trusted each other, we're loyal, respectful and everything one should be in a relationship.Relationships aren't one-sided. Eden was sure she was close to falling in love with Alec, as was Alec with Eden. She didn't trust easily, so it took a few months to even become friends with him. And along the way, they fell. Like that saying, Alec fell first, but Eden fell harder.A sudden ringing noise broke Alec out of thought as he looked to see his boss and best friend calling."What's up boss?" Alec answered"You alone?" Malakai asked and Alec replied that Eden just left now, and he was alone."I have a job for you. Some people want some other people killed, y'know, the usual. This is an easy job; it won't be too difficult at all. Also $500,000. What do you say?" It was midnight but that was the best time for murder. And the money sounded great."Deal. Why?" Malakai's jaw clenched, another one of his rules; don't ask questions, unless he told himself."I know I'm not supposed to ask but you sometimes tell me, even if not always." Alec followed up, the last thing he wanted was an angry Kai. Because an angry Kai would make nightmares look like dreams about rainbows. And Kai let this one slide since Alec was his best friend."The people laundered money from his company, but also sent their daughter undercover to dig up dirt on them to bring them down. They found out but it was a little too late since they had information that could bring the company down and they're threatening to release it tomorrow morning." Malakai explained and Alec smirked. Rich people just never want to get their hands dirty."Except they'll never see the morning come. Is it the whole family or...?""Yeah, it's only the parents and daughter's an only child. If you ask me, it's just stupid rich people shit, our job is to kill and gain." Kai said with a shrug, he could care less why people wanted others dead."You're stupidly rich Kai." Alec said with an airy laugh and Malakai just smirked, Alec could practically hear it through the phone."I don't do stupid rich people shit though." Was his answer."Don't worry boss, the family will be dead by morning, they won't even see the sun rise." Alec was about to end the call until he looked right and saw Eden standing at the window."The family will be what?" Eden asked and Alec knew he fucked up. He looked down and saw Eden's phone on the seat which she must've come back for.She had a look of shock on her face but also denial? And betrayal."Eden..." Alec breathed out, and then he heard Kai let out a little laugh."Hate to say I told you so but... I told you so. Good luck." And Kai hung up."The family will be what Alec?" Eden demanded. She was now sitting in the car, and that scared her a little after what she heard, but she knew Alec wouldn't hurt her, would he? "How much did you hear?" Alec asked. He sounded defeated and rightfully so. "I heard enough." Was Eden's vague response. "Eden, I know I can't hide it from you anymore and if you want to hate me, I wouldn't blame you. But..." Alec began but it was a little difficult explaining something like this to his girlfriend. "It's my job. I'm ordered to kill people and I get paid in return." He finally said and Eden's eyes widened. He didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't this. Or maybe it was but he just didn't want to admit it. "What the fuck Alec? What the actual fuck? This is why you wouldn't tell me." Eden wanted to burst and scream but she he held herself back. "Eden please, I didn't tell you because this is how you're reacting and- and I didn't want to lose you. I knew you'd leave me if you knew what I
"What happened to him?" Eden asked curiously. "He was obsessed. So, I got a restraining order on him, I haven't seen him since, and it's been 4 years." Sienna sighed but remembered her current boyfriend and smiled. "Your cousin is a lot better, don't worry." Eden laughed and Sienna was glad she could make her feel a little better. After 2 rings, Alec picked up Eden's call and regretted it not even 5 minutes later. A phone call wasn't the most ideal thing, but it was better than a text. And Eden couldn't face Alec right now so the phone call it was. "I can't be with you Alec. I started to fall in love with you but after what you told me, I'm scared to be around you. I'm sorry. We're done." "That's what she said. Those were her exact words; fuck I don't know why I didn't listen to you Kai and I know your happy inside right now because you were right so fuck off." Alec quoted Eden and explained the situation to Malakai who listened with a straight face. Kai wasn't happy per say, bu
3 years later Monsters aren't born, they're created. They're not the ones hiding under the bed, they're the ones inside you. They're created from the pain of one's heart, the pain is what's turned into darkness. Little by little, the darkness grows and overpowers one's mind, body and soul, making someone it's personal bitch. It's exactly what happened to her. A monster was created from the innocence she once had, the innocence taken and made into madness. Over the years, she fully processed what had happened to her, what her ex did to her. She became fully aware and became curious too. What was this thrill her ex got from killing, from murdering. She never found out herself but that didn't mean she wasn't curious. However, as well as the storm raging in her mind, Eden had a storm around her too. This was her second to last year in university and she had to graduate. There was just one small issue. She could no longer afford to. Eden began her studies on a scholarship, she di
In all honesty, over the years, Eden changed a lot. A lot more than she'd like to admit. Gone was the Eden who would never hurt a fly. She'll admit she had some murderous thoughts about people. Like her professors or people who annoyed her, she wasn’t serious, but a part of her mind thought she was. That is why she regretted breaking up with Alec quickly. But at the same time, she fell out of love with him. She would always care about him, always love him but not so much romantically anymore. But Alec hurt her too. He told her he would hurt her if his boss asked him to. She knew it was a test but that didn't matter. Alec lied to her and hid such a big part of himself from Eden and that's what hurt. "No. Not anymore. Never again. Being scared is for the weak and I'm anything but." Eden answered confidently and Malakai nodded. Just the answer he needed. "That's exactly what I wanted to hear. So, do you accept it?" Malakai sat down opposite Eden. "What if I don't?" Eden knew there w
2 months have passed and let's just say Eden is back on track with university. It really is amazing, the whole 180 her life made, and it was all thanks to Malakai. Along the way, Eden had learned that she didn't have to clean her mess up, Malakai had an entire team ready to clean up the scenes she left. She would show Malakai proof and she'd be paid in return. And hell, the adrenaline rush she would get from slashing someone's throat open was incomparable. It was easy money, she only had to pay with her sanity though, Of course, there were difficulties, but Malakai sorted them out for her. She learned Malakai was always there for his agents and never allowed them to get caught or have any trouble. He cared. He just didn't show it. And something she was thankful for was that no one treated her any differently because she was a girl. No one questioned her capabilities because she was a girl. In fact, Eden was on her way to a mission right now. Malakai called her about an ho
"One day Eden. I'll tell you one day hmm?" Malakai said and Eden nodded. Malakai was in awe. Eden’s eyes were so innocent, but she was the opposite. She had fire in her veins and embers in her eyes. She looked like she wouldn't hurt a fly but oh how wrong that was. She didn't strike anyone as a criminal, a serial killer. Maybe that's what made her so good at it. Part of Kai feels bad that he created a killer from an innocent angel. But another part of him was glad. This is who Eden was now and they both liked it. Besides, don't get me started on her name. Eden. It’s a garden in paradise. It's ironic that her name resembles paradise, but her actions will probably send her to hell. Her name was perfect for her. Eden liked not being afraid anymore. In turn, people were now afraid of her instead. She wasn't scared and that made her feel more powerful. In control of herself. She was living breathing proof that a girl was just as deadly as anyone else. "What do you say about us g
"W-what?" Eden's heart dropped. It couldn't be. Surly. She ran to find Malakai and once she found him, she stood right in front of him to block his view. "Eleanor Park? Are you sure? Show me the picture." Eden said in a rush, Malakai was confused what got into her suddenly. "What's wrong?" He asked and Eden took a deep breath. "I've known Elanore since high school. She doesn't go to the same university, but I was friends with her in high school. I knew she got married but... I'm sorry Kai. I can't do it." That angered him. This is why emotions are overrated. "There's no room for feelings in this profession Eden. You either kill her or I do. I told you; I don't care what they do but when I have clients and orders, I make sure I do them. This means you follow my orders." Malakai said in a grave voice, but Eden was determined, and she stopped being scared a long time ago. "No, the fuck I won't. She's a good person." Eden wasn't backing down and Malakai let out a humourless la
Malakai on the other hand was raging but he hid it so well. How can Eden just disobey him like that? This whole job was based on orders. He'll admit, Eden was the only one who would do something like this. Even Alec follows his orders, no questions asked. He wouldn't ever think of disobeying Kai. But Eden just had to be different. Eden was quite different from when Malakai first met her, she'd changed, maybe for the better since there was no more nice, innocent Eden who hated how vulnerable and weak she was. Now she was strong, confident, powerful and not so scared. For that reason, Malakai didn't regret making her into what she was, until now when Eden disobeyed him. He couldn't care less about the client; it was about orders. If orders weren't followed, it would be an issue in the future. It's happened before. He had an agent who didn't follow orders and soon went rogue, also trying to kill Malakai but he was the one who died instead. Which is why he needed to make sure everythi
