I sat alone at a small corner table in the quaint café, my eyes fixed on the steam rising from the cup of coffee before me. The aroma of freshly brewed beans enveloped the air, providing a momentary respite from the chaos that consumed my mind.

Thoughts of Meghan and our children weighed heavily on my heart, their absence a constant ache that refused to subside. As I traced absent-minded patterns on the table with my fingers, the murmurs of conversation and the clattering of dishes created a backdrop of familiar sounds.
