Irene was taken aback, her heart racing as his unexpected agreement washed over her. This wasn't like him at all, and she found herself caught off guard by the shift in his demeanour.

Clearly, this wasn't what she had anticipated. She never thought he would acquiesce in such a manner, and it definitely wasn't her intention to lead to this point.

"What's going on? I've agreed with you. If you want to leave, go ahead," Theodore's voice was calm, cutting through the tension like a soothing balm.

Irene stood there, utterly speechless. His composure was a stark contrast to his earlier words and actions, leaving her utterly bewildered.
