Dinner

"Let me carry him." Axe forcefully pulled Oracle's body from my arms, leaving an empty feeling when Oracle's small body was transferred to his father's hands.

I was going to protest, but since we were walking in the hotel lobby. I decided against it and let Axe go ahead of me. Axe's sturdy back seemed to be getting farther away as his wide strides never paused.

Axe seemed to be hunting for time. Where is he going after this? My mind kept asking questions.

I quickly caught up with his footsteps which now seemed to be entering the hotel room. Every movement Axe made seemed strange to me, or was it just me? I quickly shook my head and pushed the door that was almost closed.

I breathe a sigh of relief to see that Axe has already moved Oracle's small body onto the bed, his sleep still as deep as it was in the car. Not at all disturbed from one move to another.

"What's wrong, Axe? Why did you leave me?" I asked as I closed the door softly.
