I was nervous when my phone flashed and I saw that it was a text from Chris, but relief filled me after reading it.

I got the check and kennel. Mom said thanks for the gift card and you shouldn’t have. Good luck and I’ll see you around.

Phew. It must have gone well when Adrian stopped over there. I'm so thankful he did that for me. I didn't want to insult the guy anymore than I already did and Adrian's easy-going attitude is a lot better for those types of situations. He sucks on the phone, but in person he's great. He's a life saver.

Adrian is currently on my roof, pulling the old shingles and other junk off into a large trash container he brought to haul away the old roof. I was warned to stay inside or out of the way so I didn’t accidentally get hit. He said he would hate for a flying shingle to knock some sense into me, then pulled me into a mind-numbing kiss before I could fuss at him or knock some manners into him.
