Chapter 85

Alex was still conversing with Clara when his phone began to ring. He knew why his father was calling him so he didn't dare pick up the phone.

Not like he didn't expect the news to reach his father.

He continued his discussion with Clara and before he knew it, it was as if they spent the whole day talking.

“Since I get to know my wife more at the office alone, it seems I will bring you here more often.” Alex teased.

The joke didn't get to Clara as she could only wonder who had been calling Alex on the phone and why he didn't pick up.

“Your phone has been ringing. Aren't you gonna pick it up?”

“It's not important,” Alex replied, accepting the fact she didn't catch the joke.

Clara no longer felt uneasy after all. Her mind was only occupied with their departure.

Since they got lots of side talk as they came in, people are surely going to make comments when they are leaving.
