Matias was the first to leave the dinning room. He walked into the living room and flopped into one of the chairs with a loud huff. I looked away from my re run of mean girls and stared at him wondering why he was hunched in his chair like he’d been scolded. I woke up with a mild headache and a running nose. I felt my body shivering even though sunlight gushed through my open window. I reached up slowly and pressed the back of my palm against my forehead. It was burning hot. I was sick just as Roman predicted. I laid back on my pillow wondering what the hell I was going to do. Roman came in then already dressed in his navy blue suit with matching pants. He walked towards me and placed his palm on my forehead.“you are sick, caught a cold” he stated with a look that said I told you so. I rolled my eyes at him as much as I could manage. He chuckled and pulled me up to a sitting position before placing pillows around my head so that I could lean on them. I coughed loudly at that moment and groaned when I felt pain in my throat. “I’ll fix a hot shower for you now and make some soup”. he said ‘don’t move”. roman took off his suit jacket and walked into our bathroom. I felt better waking up the next morning, Roman’s side of the bed was empty but still a bit warm meaning he’d just woke up. I rolled out of the bed to go to the shower because if felt clammy and sweaty. I groaned when o looked at where I stood up from and saw it soiled with blood. I’d been so caught up with a lot of things that I forgot to check the date. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs, so I hurried back to the bed, lay down and covered myself with the duvet. Roman walked in dressed in shorts and a normal t shirt.“i know you are not sleeping Camila, come have breakfast” he said.“don’t worry, I’ll come after you” I replied but he didn't move instead he came forward and ripped the duvet off me.“get up” he instructed. I shook my head trying to reach for the duvet. Roman froze for a second as his blue eyes met mine. I flushed. My cold was finally gone and I could go around the house without coughing or sneezing my head off my body. Mother nature was still at work but I didn’t fell the pain that much anymore. I’d woken up a tad bit early in order to make breakfast for Roman In appreciation for what he’d been doing. I took off the ring that he’d given me and placed it on the table while I began to make the waffles. Roman loved waffles and syrup with a bowl of fruit salad at the side and a glass of wine. The wine though wasn’t very healthy but it was worth it. I started mixing all the ingredients in the bowl, once done i poured some of it in the waffle maker while I sliced the fruits into a bowl. “your brothers have suggested a date” Roman told me as we sat down to eat breakfast. He had a skeptical look on his face as if wondering how I was going to react to the news. “when?” I asked, stuffing my mouth with some hash browns that he’d made. He looked down at the paper he was holding. “that’ll be in two weeks, June 20” I nodded finding nothing wrong with the date. Roman smiled and stuffed the paper away before beginning on his breakfast. We were soon interrupted though by someone slamming the front door open. Olivia stalked into the room with Matias right behind her. I heard a very irritating beeping sound around me, it was burning through my ears and I tried to yell at whoever was making it to make it stop. All I could see was darkness but I could hear distant voices in my head and they got closer and closer to me as I tried to open my eyes. “she’s waking up” I heard someone say. The voice was deep, masculine and very unfamiliar. “Camila” the person said. I tried my best ans soon my eyes were almost blinded by bright light. I groaned and closed my eyes again until I sensed that the light had been reduced. I opened them and stared around the room. It was coated white, and had many machines and even another bed in the corner. I looked to the foot of my bed and saw Roman standing there with his hands deep inside his pocket, staring at me.”she’s fine” the person I heard earlier said. Its been 3 days, 3 days of me seating beside Matias’ bed waiting for him to wake up. I’ve watched him just sleep and snore for 3 whole days and that was the only indication that he was alive. I was holding his hand for all the time that I sat there, which was in fact 2 days, I’d got up only to use the bathroom. Roman forced me to eat a few time but the food always came back up as it did whenever I was worried about something. I was the morning of the 4th day and I could feel my body weakening already even though I told Roman and the rest of my brothers that I was totally fine. I looked up when I saw the door of the ward open, it was Diego and Roman both looking fresh because I’d told them to go home and freshen up. “hey, how’s he?” Diego asked me, taking a seat beside me. “Camila” someone yelled so loud in my ear, that I jumped and fell off my bed. I hit the ground with a loud thud and let out an equally loud groan. I turned around so that I was laying on my back and looked into the eyes of my best friend Olivia. She was looking down at me with a very funny expression on her face. “hey bestie, we need to run” she said pulling me from the ground. I snatched my hand from hers and blew hair out of my face. “where are we going?” I asked. Her face dropped and she looked at me like I was crazy. “we are going shopping for you bachelorette party which is tomorrow”. I paused and looked at her with wide eyes “wait, does that mean that my wedding is in a few days?” I asked. She nodded her head enthusiastically. “but I haven't even made any plans”. the last few weeks had been so busy, I’d been watching Matias recover and hadn't had much time for myself.
