38: Threatening Him.

Hera’s POV

Despite the tedious journey to and from the old witch’s house that I’d just undergone, the only thing on my mind was casting the spell I’d retrieved rather than getting any rest because of how worn out I felt. Nothing mattered to me as much as finally getting rid of Layla and I had no intention of resting until I finally did so.

As soon as the palace came into view while we rode on our horses, we took a different turn and headed toward a deserted field. The deserted field was home to an abandoned underground prison that only a few people knew of since it’d been out of use for years and that made it a perfect location to place the curse on Layla without any intruding eyes barging in.

The level of the curse’s potency was largely dependent on how close to the intended victim it was cast and that was why we needed to settle somewhere close by before I placed the curse on her. If not, I’d have cast the spell the second I left the old witch’s abode so that I could return to a pala
