Chapter 22 The Discovery

The days flew past and it was just few hours to the big day. Mia felt unsteady and something kept creeping at her skin. She had retired to bed since past nine after Cheryl had left the house but she couldn't sleep. Her mother had just left her room, they had held on to each other for about an hour and she had been dozing off before she left the room but as soon as the door clicked shut she was up again.

Mia checked the time, it was almost past eleven. It must be anxiety, she thought to herself. The day break would mark a new beginning in her life and Mia wasn't so sure if she was ready or not.

Mia felt uneasy as she poured herself a glass of water and she chugged it down her throat in a hurry. She tried to rest again but it felt really painful. Her bones acted like they would rip her skin out. Soon she got out of the bed, sweating profusely and her whole body ached in every joint. Her first thought was to call Asher but she didn't want to bother him.
