Chapter 49: Becoming Your Boyfriend

His dark eyes stared at her intently, as if scrutinizing the truth behind her words. After a moment, he finally let go of her hand. She quickly withdrew her fingers from between his and sat down on a chair beside the coffee table.

Asher sat across from Vivienne, and the waiter handed them the menu. After ordering two cups of coffee, the waiter left. Vivienne looked at Asher's expressionless face and asked, "How did you know I was in that building?"

Recalling that she saw him as soon as she left the building, and judging by his appearance, it was evident that he wasn't there by chance but intentionally waiting for her.

With his thin lips slightly pursed, he remained silent.

Vivienne didn't press him further; she just looked at Asher. It was apparent that he had lost some weight and his complexion was pale. His bangs covered most of his forehead, and she suddenly wondered how his wounds had been these past few days, if they had improved.
