Chapter 38: Cutting Clothes

The faint smell of tobacco on him seeped into Elaine's nostrils, swirling like a delicate mist, permeating her heart. Uncontrollable moisture welled up in Elaine's eyes, and the man's cool fingers slid past her ear. Elaine trembled suddenly and hurriedly took a few steps back.

Aaron awkwardly held up his hand that was about to retract, his gaze showing a hint of surprise. Elaine met his gaze for a moment before turning her face away and walking forward with long strides. "I'm tired, let's find a place to sit."

Watching her walk away, Aaron furrowed his brow helplessly.

Out of Aaron's sight, Elaine clenched her lips tightly. Even though she knew that once Aaron turned gentle, he was anything but human, she couldn't help but be moved by him, stirring her heart. This feeling was simply awful. She would rather he be fierce, ruthless. Then she wouldn't need to be polite to him. Once she endured these three days, the past would no longer matter.
