CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

The moment Kyle and I walk into the living room, I almost turn around and run away. Mum is sitting on a sofa completely lost in thought and dad is pacing about the living room restlessly like he just lost a big business contract. Whenever they are both in this state, Kyle and I are sure to get the scolding of our lives.

“Mum, dad, here we are” Kyle announces.

“Sweetie, are you okay?” Mum asks worriedly as she rushes to me and engulfs me in a warm hug.

“Yes mum, I’m fine”

“Thank you for bringing her safely” She says as she kisses Kyle’s cheeks.

“It’s my duty”

“Luna!” My father calls firmly and I jump in fright.

“Yes Daddy” I answer in almost a whisper.

“What do you see on the table” He asks and I slowly walk over to the table and I am not surprised at all to see my passport and a few other papers on it. I knew he was
